For 99% of stuff you just need a .edu to verify stuff with and if gives you a license for life, it's real nice

Don't take my word as gospel tho because my credentials are weird due to me having a weird job

There are talented people who badly need the creative suite but cannot afford it. I am a gibbering idiot and have the whole thing for free and mostly it just sits, unused, installed on all my machines in case I ever feel like giving myself a crash course in smtg

i apparently can take a class for free every semester just for being married to an employee? it's going to rule for exactly as long as state universities continue to exist, which might be a few years!

because the makers of the program assume only olds like you will buy it they dont even bother with much copy protection compared to a much cheaper videogame which is bonkers but whatever

point is they are easy to pirate esp considering how much you are saving

From my experience on the inside, I think they don't really care if individual assholes pirate it bc they were never going to buy it anyway, but maybe they'll be free advertising

Enforcing businesses not stealing their poo poo is probably way more worthwhile considering that's gotta be like 90% of their revenue stream

video games always seemed easier to pirate than adobe software. i had one torrent where i had to basically fake a phone call or some such poo poo to get photoshop activated. though they have that new antipiracy poo poo that is supposedly uncrackable on games now. haven't hosed with it because i don't have a lot of time to play games so i am more choosy and i can afford to buy what i want to play.

i loving hate moving books more than anything and i've moved like eight times in the past six years and books are the absolute worst but i keep getting more books. i am never going to loving read "more than night: film noir in its contexts" but it was free so i took it. ugh! books!

I love that a cellphone can have an entire library's worth of books. Once you've moved a library once or twice you just end up getting rid of physical books.

I keep moving all my books because I don't consider digital archiving anything but an emergency measure so I still have them just in case.

If I lose power long enough that the multiple digital backups of every book that exists go dead, I don't have time to be reading genre fiction anyway. Physical books still exist, but pretending like you need them is for suckers.
