I'm not really sure why you think the Empire was always intended to be the strongest ranged faction at release? It was always supposed to be Dwarves who are strong in that. Empire was always supposed to be a jack of all trades.

So, DLC unlocks in about 5:30hrs, what do you guys plan to try first? I've never been a huge wood elves fan but I think picking up Orion's shooty bonuses and gently caress Archaon's face with arrows gonna be fun for a while.

I'm talking multi-balance here but it wasn't even greatswords, on release shieldless spearmen would rout any monster unit in the game (apart from maybe arachnoroks? and empire demigryphs of course) and empire swordsmen were bang-for-buck the best infantry in the game. Obvs in the campaign you both usually have full stacks of whatever tier infantry you can afford so it didn't matter as much. My first thing is probably gonna be a grand campaign as all archers all day, been waiting on a full skirmish army for ages now. I do sort of expect there to be some weird problems with the balance that makes this not as viable as treemen armies, but beastmen were actually really well designed (apart from making them the strongest mage army in the game with un-patched Devolve, whoops) on release so I'm pretty hopeful.

Is there any overviews of the WE mini-campaign, video or otherwise? Doesn't seem to be a lot of info on it from a quick search compared to how much they put out for Eye for an Eye.

What are the odds any of the Warhammer DLC goes on sale for Christmas? I'm totally content with my games right now so I don't mind waiting. I'm under the impression that Total War DLC is infamous for almost never dipping in price though.

I'll do everything eventually but first out is going to be Durthu exacting the debt of nature on the Old World and covering it in forest, or outposts at least. None will be spared the wrath of the wild. Then most likely the new Beastmen lord because I loving love playing Beastmen.

I haven't been playing this game for long, but this guy has his army lined up how he wants, with his formations all set out, and to move forward he is picking up the entire template and shifting it forward. How on earth do you do that? It looks super helpful. So far I have been moving units one by one which makes micromanagement really tough.

Hold alt and left click to drag the selected units, hold ctrl to rotate. Alternatively you can lock them in formation with ctrl-g or by clicking the little lock symbol when grouping them.
