Pineapples come from out the ground, duh. One of the fun things I learned from my grandfather's time farming them. I vaguely remember that they're called that because they reminded english explorers of pine cones, which were called pine apples.

Sham bam bamina! posted:No, they were called pine cones. Pineapples got their name from being actual fruits, in contrast to pine cones. pineapple (n.) late 14c., "pine cone," from pine (n.) + apple. The reference to the fruit of the tropical plant (from resemblance of shape) is first recorded 1660s, and pine cone emerged 1690s to replace pineapple in its original sense except in dialect. For "pine cone," Old English also used pinhnyte "pine nut."

Hey just in case anyone in the thread hasn't seen Doggie B yet (for a refresher it was a reading in one of the ideas episodes that beyond belief somehow actually became a movie) it's free to watch if you have Amazon Prime. I'm the massive number of typos in the articles off to the right.

In one of the later ideas episodes they mention how aghast they are that Doggie Boogie actually became real. p.s. Here's an imgur album of the pertinent plot points in case anyone doesn't want to watch the whole hour-and-a-half movie for some reason.

Not that anybody cares at this point, but I just realized that "Blaze THC" from the Sonic episode is probably based on the "KTE" abbreviation for Knuckles the Echidna in the Genesis games. There's an actual precedent that Spongebob100 was following there. (sorry for the double post) Sham bam bamina! fucked around with this message at 02:18 on Dec 12, 2016 |

This is a good ep, the dudes with major issues about women are no surprise but the little odysseys like the Indian guy crying racism when him making GBS threads his pants during a BJ gets him blacklisted or the quest to find a mistress who will fart on them are amazing.
