Basically Lombardi is being told what to say by belichick because he knows Haslam can be influenced. Next we're going to see reports of 2 first round picks so haslam can feel smart when he only gives up a first and conditional third.

This is just embarrassing. He's getting almost a million dollars per yard per game on that contract.

It's also worth noting that Witten's contract was signed back in 2011 and was a 7-year deal. Thomas' and Pitta's deals are for 5 years and Graham's was for 4. This makes Thomas' contract look even worse in comparison. Skwirl posted:All I get from this is that Jimmy Graham deserves more money. No it's about right for a TE that can't block and is only on a 4-year deal

Yeah guaranteed at signing is the only part of the contract that matters, the rest of the "guaranteed" is funny money that guarantees annually and isn't tied up in roster bonuses, performance bonuses, workout bonuses, etc, etc. The difference was one I had to learn in the whole "Colin Kaepernick $126 million contract" thing

Guaranteed annual pay usually doesn't kick in until the 1st/2nd day of the league year, if a player is still on the roster. Roster and Workout bonuses kick in on the appropriate days. If a player is cut before these cutoff dates, he gets nothing.
