Tomorrow, doom!
But now, tea.
So I heard a rap-rap-rapping outside my chamber door...and a box appeared!

Containing finest premium newsprint:

Parts for a planet, that appears to have exploded:

And the famous QX1 space station kit, feted up and down my Facebook friendslist! Woooo! They'll be so jealous:

Unwrapping small fragile fiddly bits seems unwise. Thanks, unnamed goon! Now my Dropfleet stuff has something to fight over.

According to my correspondence, a tall thin tube has appeared at my doorstep. I think I can guess what it may be, but I still have no picture to take for these things. Hope nobody goes through my gifts before I get back.

As promised! the pictures I owe the thread:

Duly cat-inspected. Ariadne Approves.

Griffon is less impressed.

I suppose that's why. He's not too fond of dogs... honestly he's a bit of a scaredy cat and the big stompy metal men would probably put him off as well.

Still, a proper, belated post. Thanks to santa Kai Tave. I will have to paint these up and share them with the forums at some point, but hell if I'm going to put an actual date on that.

Catte/cade/katinas was unavailable, so the parcel was inspected by FHM Lithuanian cover girl Kelly Brook and Vass. They approve of the gently battered box.

Oh boy, balloons!

And surprisingly useful foam cuttings!

The actual gifte contains the largest laser-cut MDF building I have ever seen - it's detailed enough that I will be afraid to paint it.

However, I will definitelly be painting the barricades and the boxes and barrels, which will be useful in our histoticals revival at the hobby store!

Thank you, santa!

Tomorrow, doom!
But now, tea.
But wait! There came another knock-knock-knocking at my chamber door!

Another box from Combatzone was delivered! This contained:

More high-quality newsprint!

A Speeees Tanker, shown here with her bubblewrap shields online.

And some planets and asteroids, again protectively wrapped.

A little research shows the tanker pack is actually an add-on to the space station from my first post. The order numbers do not match, so I'm guessing my GoonSantas must have co-ordinated. Truly a mighty but dangerously explosive space station shall rise this Christmas.

Thanks Goons! That'll break up line of sight quite nicely across the tabletop.

Next time I'm wrapping my presents though. I didn't know if I should but in retrospect I really should've. :ohdearsass:

I'm glad you enjoy your gifts! I was a little worried about accidentally getting you something you already own, but it sounds like nearly everything that falls into that category is a welcome replacement. I also wouldn't worry about not having wrapped your presents this year. Like Drowning Rabbit mentioned, it's a pleasant added bonus when it happens, but is by no means required.

P.S. I couldn't quite tell from your posts; did you find the note inside the card?

My santee's gift was left near a door or porch, because Amazon Santa I guess couldn't get down the chimney.

I'm kind of hoping it goes over because their tastes weren't what I was expecting from a traditional games secret santa.

My correspondence had told me another gift has arrived that also appears tube-shaped, but she has not been that precise on the details. However, I'm getting some bad news in that my correspondence will no longer be at home to check for any gifts. This makes me sad, as the home will be abandoned for a week.

I'll string for a new correspondence to make sure any packages that arrive are in good hands. I don't want any of your gifts to be sent back because nobody was there to pick them up.

I've also recieved two notifications of packages waiting at my local post office to be picked up. First arrived last Friday, second arrived today morning. I presume these are gifts. Didn't have time to pick them up before rush hour, there were too many people in front of me in the line and I got frustrated, I'll pick them tomorrow morning.

nah

Earlier today I got the second stage of my gift! I didn't have time to get into it until now, and due to a new cat tree there were no package inspectors around.

It's from Senegal! Also, for some reason, I was sure the torn up magazines were more than packing, because the first of it that I pulled out was this weird cover.

This and the card are made from a local fabric. Neat!

This is a "challenge coin", which I wasn't aware was still a thing. In WW2 special forces soldiers would use these as a method to prove affiliation. If you couldn't, you would be subjected to a dire punishment, like buying a round of drinks for everyone. It's going right next to my million yen note from the wartime Philippines!

Thanks, once more, Special Agent Santa!

"Oh hey, this'll be that copy of Millions Of Dollars I ordered for Christmas family game night."

But no. Opening the box revealed...

...a card with a large penis on it. Luckily my co-workers are cool with that sort of thing!

There was also some other stuff: a zombie mini, some CDs which I haven't listened to yet, and a book in rather fetching wrapping. It was almost nice enough to stop me from tearing it to pieces to reveal the book inside, but only almost.

A book about the experiences of immigrants in our decaying ruin of a country! (Which has been on my Amazon wishlist for a while.) Thanks Santa!

My prediction was right and I have received two gifts in the mail.

The first included a ton of Perry Miniatures characters. There's the Emir's court, some leaders and some musicians. Thank you so much! Perry makes some of my favorite models and with this I'm pretty much set when it comes to generals and other character models.

The second one included Frostgrave Barbarians and a book on the Wars of Atlantis. Thanks a bunch! I've been eyeing the Barbarians and didn't know they were out yet. I'm also looking forward to reading the book.

Ask me about
Japanese elfgames!
There was a package waiting for me when I woke up (in the middle of the night). Since I don't have any cute pets, I put my embarrassing mascot character plush in to investigate:

I had suspected this was the SA TG Secret Santa package by how it was obviously taped up by hand instead of whatever Amazon uses. And indeed it turned out to be a box of goodies with an explanatory note.

So that's FAE, TFOS, Fellowship, a VHS copy of Catnapped, two different types of tea, and a Frozen Beef Patties sign. So that's some pretty great stuff and one or two impressive gag gifts depending on how you tally such things. TFOS is an amazing blast from the past, and after I took the photos I was flipping through it and noticed that there was a character written on binder paper with what looks like some Spanish homework on the back.

I'm not entirely sure what to do with a Frozen Beef Patties sign, but for now Toriel will take care of it.

And if for some reason you're wondering what a mug of Wild Huckleberry Tea looks like:

Anyway, many thanks to my Secret Santa! :D
