To add to why I would never purchase from BrokenEgg Games again, the store that acted as the intermediary between myself and BrokenEgg messaged them about the order 3 days ago, letting them know I wished to cancel the order after a six week wait. They received no response. I messaged them yesterday to get involved myself and they shipped the order and then told me they had already shipped it that morning, despite me being able to see that they didn't ship the order until after they received my message . Then lied about when they shipped it, so that the order could not be canceled.

Maybe my experience is rare, but you should be careful when ordering from them.

I imagine your bank would go for a charge back in that case.

Well, because I ordered it through my local store and i'm super good friends with that store, I can't really do that. The person that ordered it for me is a super nice guy, but because of this he tends to not stand up for stuff like that and can be kind of a pushover. Kind of stuck in a hard place with it, which is why I messaged them directly to address it. If it was me, I definitely would charge back. As it stands i'm scheduled to speak to the manager of Broken Egg Games, some guy named Zee, on Monday and we'll see what they say. If they fix it somehow i'll be sure to let you guys know. I just wanted people to know what was going on so they can be careful shopping with them, as people were talking about ordering their tokens.

So I had the upper hand as the Empire in our Imp rear end game last night (a simple task) and had set a trap of dudes by the exit to catch the objective carrying Wookie who was close to wounded (and the last unwounded hero). So he doubles, takes the 2 strain and files across the board and out the exit before I could react. Is this a thing or did I gently caress up?

How far exactly is "across the board" in squares?

Awesome beer, no pants.
Join the Legion.
I've won a mission that way as a Rebel, where you double move + strain 2 and get to the end with 1 or 0 movement points in excess. In general it kind of a mess up on your part especially if you had the people to provide a wall of bodies the round before. It can be tough to see that coming though.

It was 12 squares total, and yeah totally my fault as I wasn't expecting it. Hilarious though, we all had a good laugh about the Wookiee high tailing it out of there.

Anybody tried the web-based version of the automated emperor for IA? Any tips, thoughts? Thinking of using it in a campaign sometime this month, as we always get into lame arguments when one of us plays as the Imperial player.

I've been using it for a while, it works well. I have used that and the mobile version and it works fairly well. It can lead to situations of the AI telling you to do actions that a normal imperial player wouldn't but the extra threat that it gives the Imperial side kind of makes up for that. It turns it from a semi-competitive experience into co-op versus a not super smart imperial commander which can be fun in it's own right.

Yup heroes can zip around like wow when they need to. 12 squares is good, but in theory across 4 activations a single hero can go... 2 squares from Tactical Movement (Fenn), 2 squares from Strain, 3 squares from Diala, 10 squares from movement and Charge (Gaarkhan, and note that he can charge through enemies and difficult terrain for 1 square per; charge counts squares, it doesn't give MP), then another 10 squares from Gideon using his 4 point double command power. That's at the extremes, but it's demonstrative of just how mobile heroes can be when they need to be. I think Mak might even be able to go faster.

ShineDog
May 21, 2007
It is inevitable!
Now try a three player game where a hero can activate twice in a round. It makes the overall hero movement so fast it's incredibly hard to keep up with a good team if you didn't take the agressive stressing imperial class.

(Always play full games)

Line of Sight can be a bit tricky, to get down, especially if you're coming from Descent where it works a bit differently. An important note is that you can't trace LOS through walls, but you CAN trace through corners of walls and unlike Descent, you can trace LOS through your target (tracing the line through the figure itself )

But again this is where the Rules Reference book comes in handy as it gives good examples on what does and doesn't count as having LOS in various situations that you'll run across.

Also don't make the same mistake i did and assume everybody is stuck with one type of weapon simply because they start with a pistol or a rifle or whatever. Any character can use any kind ranged weapon they want. Although i think there are a few abilities on some of the characters that will give you bonuses for using only one type. Jyn has her Gunslinger ability for example. Although also keep in mind if a character doesn't have a dice pool for melee attacks then they can't use melee weapons.

Edit:Corners of walls being parts of the map tiles where the black edging that indicate a wall stops partway down and doesn't connect to anything. This is useful to know since you can sit somebody on a corner to shoot around it, but then they can't be shot back in return.

The speed 3 is a bit rough but could be fun.

The liberator looks filthy, I will need at least 4.

Not sure how to feel about the Tie Defender, it's fast and hits pretty hard. However bomber is kinda mediocre for one blue dice.

Bomber on a red dice isn't that hot either, but then that's not why the E-wing is there.

If you want to fling dice at ships the decimator is actually pretty good at it.

Yeah the Imperial options aren't that interesting. I feel like the already spoiled Decimator hero is the best, given the sheer health and power that thing has. The shuttle hero is also a more expensive but not ship bound Adar Talon (basically).

According to the visual guide the ship was like a mon cal civic center arcology building that they launched to escape the imperials.

At first I thought it was http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dauntless-class_heavy_cruiser, which would also have been cool, but it seems like it was something else. Either way, I haven't gotten a game of x-wing or armada in since GenCon. Faced a pretty aggravating rules lawyer in the second round of armada nationals running double ISD and some other stuff against my Rieekan zombie MC30 list. I whupped him 7-3, but it took most of two hours and I walked away feeling like I'd just had a root canal. I'm still pretty burned out on competitive gaming from the summer. I wanna chuck some dice at somebody's fleet again but none of my friends play anymore and it seems like the local game store crowds aren't my kind of peeps. Even considering cashing out all my star wars minis, it's been so long, but I can't be bothered to separate everything out and there's too much stuff to reasonably sell in one go. Trapped in the display case for all eternity, I suppose.

With wave 6 and the correlian expansion due just before Christmas, I'm thinking of running a small ship list on the rebels side. Phoenix home in the lead, a few corvettes (not hammerheads yet :argh: ) and an A-wing/Ghost escort could be fun.
