The PSP version of Ys VI has some of the worst loading times I've ever seen.

Not that that matters with people playing stuff digitally but it's still impressive in a "how did they manage to poo poo on the ceiling?" sort of way.

On the other hand, I love the setting and aesthetic of the game, and it plays a lot like a scary puzzle game with a very harsh pass-fail system. I say it's worth the price.

How is Crypt of the Necrodancer on the Vita? I really liked the game on the PC and I think getting it on the Vita for 5 bucks would be worth it unless it ran like crap

I'm not familiar with the PC version so I can't say how it compares feature-wise but it runs fine and is well suited to the Vita D-pad.

If you have Plus don't forget to go back and look through the poo poo you claimed for things you didn't or couldn't play on PSTV. Like I wouldn't play Spelunky on PSTV because it's better on a regular console or PC but if I had gotten a Vita before they died I was totally gonna put that on there. Probably Isaac and Rogue Legacy too even though I suck at both. Though it all depends on where you're going to play it and how much time you have at a stretch

They'd be pretty fine if they were just the combat, just the CPU mode, none of the bad super dumb story, actually using the good idea of a console universe battle and shares being relevant, etc...

Basically TOCS 1-2 or a similar franchise. Everything story-wise about Neptunia is dumbly executed (sorry Takoluka :( ) and falls along the same plot level as SKagura.

rebirth 1 is insanely grindy so if you play it you should do it on pc so you can cheat engine yourself way more exp, supposedly the later games are better about it

The Neptunia franchise gets gradually better but that isn't very high praise when the first Neptunia was one of the worst JRPGs I've ever played and the recent ones are "pretty much generic and average at very best."

If you want what amounts to Family Guy with anime and video games then it's probably worth your time if you buy a new one. Otherwise? Eh.

The series is mostly goofs so continuity doesn't matter and VII's battle system was fun from what I played of it. Writing wasn't my bag but if you like it VII's a good budget RPG.

Best I can say here is that Neptunia's like Seinfeld: the plot for the moment is pretty thin, but the character interactions are what make it. Nearly every main game is "The console girls have to beat the lady who embodies piracy," but hearing Neptune and co. be themselves is what makes the journey worth taking.

I can't really say that Neptunia andS-K are very similar plotwise.

S-K is basically like "We're going to make tit jokes and now here is our SUPER SERIOUS ANIME PLOT cobbled together from whatever shonen we were watching this morning. We expect you to take our INFINITE ANGSTFEST about the solemn duty of ninjas seriously in a game where every bit of combat revolves around tits."

Neptunia is more like "Hey guys, remember that time Mario went down the pipe? Good times, heh, good times."

That was SK before the Versus series and Yumi hit big and turned everything into a blatant and soulless cash grab using only fanservice to sell. You're right about Neptunia though.

Oh and if anyone can stand some pretty tame girl on girl action, Valkyrie Drive is the best action game starring girls out of the bunch.

It's a pretty competent brawler and I mean, recommending the Neptunia games just like that implies Action Unleashed and Blanc VS Zombies are decent games. Under that metric, Valkyrie Drive got them beat them easily

That is the thing, Valkyrie Drive is not a Musou game. The Senran Kagura games available on the Vita (Bon Appetit notwithstanding) are Musous and those are simply terrible.

And for the record, I actually don't like Musou games. I find them mind numblingly boring.

Woah now. Porn is ok for people who like it.

Let's not be silly though. SK is not really like DW or SW or other Musou games. There are vast differences. SK is a weird hybrid of things.
