I've watched the first couple episodes of this show and I like it a lot. Does it ever become explicit with Victor/Yuuri being gay, or is it just heavily implied? It would be nice to have a show where the characters were actually explicitly gay.

He also has some lower key roles, but he's definitely best when he gets to be 100% Mamoru. like the moment i saw miyano on the role list, i was looking forward to seeing the character they brought in miyano for, because i was hoping that they had put some insanely loud figure skater in there - and they did. To piggyback on to the other answers, it's most definitely the case that they're a couple, but the show takes great pains to show that primarily through little gestures. I don't think the characters have said "I love you" or something similar directly to each other on screen. That seems to be a conscious choice, though, rather than any sort of "no homo" bet-hedging. My speculation is that the rankings will go 1. Yurio, 2. JJ, 3. Yuri, and Yurio will declare that since a Yuri won this means Victor and Yuri can get married anyway.
