They aren't making Wii Us anymore. By the time Breath of the Wild comes out there won't be any Wii Us on store shelves. The absolute best case scenario, that BotW launches with the Switch in March and the Wii U version comes out at the same time, there will have been zero game releases on the Wii U for three months by that point. It's absolutely a dick move, but It's understandable that Nintendo doesn't want to invest many resources on releasing a game for a dead and buried console.

I don't know why they would want to release it on Wii U. When Twilight Princess came out , the Gamecube was still in production for two more months. They've already stopped making WiiUs, there's no reason to release any more games for it.

lol if it's cancelled for WiiU, people said they wouldn't cancel it but why wouldn't they? WiiU is basically a dead machine and releasing BOTW on it would usurp potential Switch sales.

I bought a PS4 for a PS3 game. I still haven't unboxed it. I'll probably play and beat the new Shantae before I get the PS4 hooked up to the TV. Wii U is the best.

They started work on the Switch when they realized BOTW was going to be too much to handle for the Wii U. The entire console exists because BOTW is going to be the biggest and most epic game of our lifetimes. Reggie knew this, and he knew once we played BOTW all would be forgiven.

My guess is that BotW is still coming to WiiU but only digitally. Speaking of Shantae and Nintendo being dumb, they are jerking around Wayforward and have not given them European codes for Kickstarter backers. Wayforward are cool tho and have given everyone affected an extra code for Steam. Not much else they can do. Been playing it on PC since Friday and while not as good as PC it still owns.
