Did we ever get a more in-depth explanation of Imanari's visa issues into the US apart from "that boy ain't right"? Still get a kick out of explaining that story to people who have not heard it (or of Imanari in general) before

Boom or bust leglock master who deviated very little from the script of devastatingly ruining people's knees or losing a tepid decision while rolling around upside down. From the transitional weird period of MMA where you had to be slightly insane to keep at it, but then they'd also try and make you into a TV star, so he'd do things like attend press conferences naked wearing only his championship belt, sometimes playing it up but also sometimes genuinely loving weird. Absolutely would have become a WEC guy except when Frank Mir tried to bring him to his camp for the Brock fight, he had an immigration interview and got himself banned from the US instead, to which his manager pretty much just threw his hands in the air and said something along the lines of "I'm not surprised, he probably hosed it up on purpose, he's an rear end in a top hat"

Also in a pure technical sense, something I've often opined is that Imanari's proficiency with leglocks causes people to miss the fact that he has one of the best offensive guards in mma.
