Star Citizen is a simulation and not a game. Yesterday on livestream Chairman Chris Roberts said that there will have to be air traffic controllers who direct ships to land, and where they are to stay, also you will only be allowed there for however long you paid for and they can tow your ship if you don't move it.

I am not making this up and you don't understand space simulation development.

There has been zero information about what Spectrum actually is, in regards to what makes it unique from any countless solutions that already exist.

I'm thoroughly convinced, due to everything CIG themselves have described, that it's merely some kind of in-game forum posting/instant messaging/voice chat.

Why would anyone not use actual internet programs and forums for that.

Why even bother?

Real answer: Because delivering what is essentially an off the shelf social media implementation is way easier than doing anything else to show progress. Also, Turbulent would be doing it.
