Removing her from the game while he sets up the failure? Maybe he's just worried about her. It seems like all she does lately is lounge around the castle drinking adult juice, so he tells her to take the kid and go on a little adventure. I bet he's secretly hoping that they'll come back and talk to him about this whole situation, he's probably trying to find a way to bring it up to someone who isn't the hero on a quest to defeat him ever since it came up with Cucumber.
