piketty doesn't actually prevent anything novel, he just gets two numbers and mashes them together, and for that he gets called a genuis

reading Marx (at least the manifesto and part 1 of capital) Is Good in ways because its smart to know an important early text of communism/socialism/leftist stuff and realize how other thinkers later down the line are utilizing and applying it to their own directions but yeah its also an old industrial age work so its not a great What Is To Be Done? type of reading i felt like Marx's 'Capital' was also a somewhat accessible shortcut text but I also haven't read it in like 5 years Arcteryx Anarchist fucked around with this message at 17:48 on Dec 19, 2016 |

I'd be surprised if there weren't, but all I know about are the Wolff lectures. Check out Spaces of Capital by David Harvey. It was my entrypoint into Marxian theory and does a better job explaining the logic of the global economy than anything else I've read, despite being a compilation of previously published material.

I know hegemonically liberal communities that are still able to have a sensible discussion about Syria/Ukraine & Russia in relation to them. D&D has basically been taken over by a reactionary (anti-)nationalism on the topic that interprets dissent as evidence of being an enemy agent. The liberal ideals of dispassionate analysis and polite discussion would be a marked improvement.
