Do you think these people are suddenly having relevations and thinking they need to change, or are they sort who will try to cling to power by blaming everyone but themselves and sticking to their approach to the bitter end?

When the powers that be saw women entering the workforce the thought must have been "great, now we can pay workers less and get twice the labor for the same price" because that's exactly what happened.
