Cool Buff Man posted:However he's right there with Wiggins for worst ws/48 for a 20 ppg player Huh, Barnes and Wiggins numbers look almost the same. Barnes is getting a couple more rebounds and turning it over less, Wiggins is getting an extra assist and hitting more 3s at a better clip. Barnes is probably playing better defense all-around too, but they both play for pretty bad defensive teams.

So the big reveal in Karl's tell-all is that Carmelo doesn't play defense and JR Smith takes bad shots? Can't wait to find out what other nuggets he has in store for us.

R.D. Mangles posted:now that the bulls appear headed for the lottery, it's time to start scouting for the draft. Here's the list of guys I think Gar is interested in: I'm calling it now. It'll be Alec Peters. Checks all the boxes. 4-year player, unathletic, and doesn't require travelling much to scout him. If some degenerative knee condition pops up before the draft I'll fly to Vegas and put my life savings on him. I called Denzel Valentine last January. Reminder also that Gar Forman had Denzel Valentine higher on his draft board than Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram. Kris Dunn was #1.

That's a mighty bold claim, do you have a source for that? When people say "He was on top of our list" it usually means the list of players realistically available.

I can't find it but my quick look for it brought me thisquote:In Valentine, the Bulls acquired a guard who shot 46 percent from the field, 44 percent from the shorter 3-point line and 85 percent from the free-throw line. Though he's a combo guard and not a pure point guard, he's comfortable handling the ball and making plays, and scouts say he's an excellent passer.

Also a really good spark plug scorer off the bench and I'm still flabberghasted that the Knicks couldn't give him a 5 mil deal to keep him around. I love Ron Baker and everything but holy gently caress once Derrick Rose inevitably goes down our guard group is hopeless

What the gently caress is up with LMA and why is he averaging only 16 pts and under 7 rebounds

Cool Buff Man posted:What the gently caress is up with LMA and why is he averaging only 16 pts and under 7 rebounds Offense is running through Kawhi and its only sort of working, plus Pao is taking a lot of LMA's comfort spots. I mean, Spurs will win ~60 games and everything but LMA doesn't look as comfortable as he did in the 2nd half of last season. LMA also started rough last season too, so it could also be that. I dunno, Pau seems like a bad fit on that team right now despite putting up his usual 20 PER numbers.

Start Dedmon alongside LMA so he has that rim protecting center and bring Pau off the bench IMO Too many slackers on the Spurs these days I don't know how well BoBo is doing and it was clear Diaw's best years were behind him but I still wasn't super thrilled about losing him just to get Pau Gasol

Cool Buff Man posted:What the gently caress is up with LMA and why is he averaging only 16 pts and under 7 rebounds Are you watching the Spurs? They have so many set plays and moving parts that he's not required to shuffle down the high block every possession like he did in Portland. His efficiency is about the same and his PER dropped but that's to be expected when you don't have to be the only threat on the court after Brandon Roy's knees give out and Wes Matthews is playing for contract money. His offensive rebounds are around the same as always but his defensive rebounds are way down due to plays like this: https://3ball.io/lamarcus-aldridge-rebound/0021600425_23 - Pau waiting with Leonard streaking down the paint https://3ball.io/lamarcus-aldridge-rebound/0021600412_291 - Pau boxing out with Parker coming down baseline https://3ball.io/leonard-rebound/0021600425_279 - LaMarcus at the high block with Parker, Leonard, and Green waiting in the paint https://3ball.io/pau-gasol-rebound/0021600425_10 - LaMarcus guarding the high PnR because Gasol's immobile in the paint https://3ball.io/pau-gasol-rebound/0021600425_202 - Gasol and LaMarcus swapping roles. The long contested 3 results in Leonard, Parker, and Green boxing out, LaMarcus guarding the low block rebound, and Gasol turning around for the easy long rebound. Spurs are just an extremely well ran team.

Well I wouldn't have asked the question had I been watching a lot of the Spurs. He still seems a little "off" and uncomfortable to me but what the hell do I know. I think the Spurs always look a little "off" to me and then they win 66 games so I'm probably just wrong

That's actually pretty spot on, except the immigrant part is irrelevant. Self made people with unlimited money usually lose the capacity to determine their own weaknesses, especially in fields where they can just buy their way to success.
