Consolation prize is doing more damage with the next ship. Third effect is if a ship with a single focus is attacking, they may elect to choose not to spend their focus on the attack and save it for defense if they know they're going to be shot at by a Juke carrier in the same turn.

If they also had Gunner, they could cancel to ENSURE the miss, then take the second attack! It can be worth that kind of jank if you have a card like R3-A2 or Vader crew that triggers per attack. Expertise, X7, TIE Mark 2, back him up with an adaptability Backdraft with title, FCS and Lightweight, and a Duchess with title, lightweight and another expertise because gently caress if I can figure out a compelling EPT for strikers that isn't the usual crack/vi stuff. All four games I've run it in has resulted in me tabling the other guy so far. It absolutely rips apart hull tanks with no agility, which is good because the Ghost is my bane and for whatever reason I've had terrible luck with ARCs recently. Also a guy I fly against pretty often is fond of building super Mirandas that one-shot Defenders off the board and I'm looking forward to giving him some payback. It can fire with each equipped secondary weapon so you do like two homing missiles (or anything that doesn't make you spend the lock), two proton torpedoes, and weapons engineer. Lets you attack two targets twice each. Soft modifications like that on proton torps really help. Concussion missiles are ok too. Gunnery teams and ordnance experts help also. Captain Jonus flying nearby is a godsend. Ion stuff is hilarious too because you can set up rams. I've not tried this sort of setup with the Tantive, but it would probably work similarly. Focus sharing rebel ships would be great companions in place of Jonus.

A tantive with weapons engineer and han solo loaded with missiles/torps and the arc that lets you use her TL so you can double lock the same ship plus roark to make you shoot 5 times at PS 12 is insane.
