I got super sick in games on the DK2 but in the Vive I never felt anything, I think it's the 90 fps that does it, except that trackpad movement feels kinda odd before you get used to it.

Does anyone notice any flickering with the grass textures on the Northern side of the photogrammetry mountain in "The Lab"? I just noticed it the other day and I am wondering if it's my updated video drivers or if it was always like that. It might have always been there, but I never noticed it. I tried out my Vive baked for the first time, which is when I noticed these tiny details.

I am running a ASUS GTX 1080 "Advanced" model. Driver I am using is: 21.21.13.7619

Other than that everything else seems fine.

I tried out Revive the other day and the only thing I tested with it so far is the "first contact" mini experience. I gotta say that one thing Oculus seems to do right is audio. The binaural audio is significantly better in the first contact demo than on any of the Valve produced stuff because when something is behind you, you can actually hear it behind you. I did not get that feeling when I was behind the cores and while they were blabbing in the Slingshot mini game in The Lab.

Do you guys think The Unspoken will have a sale during the Oculus Home winter sale or is it unlikely and I should just pick it up full price? Either way I want to pick this up sometime within the week, and if it's not going on sale I would like to buy it tomorrow.

I wouldn't expect it to be a daily deal if it's not regular on sale, based on no information whatsoever. I'd just go for it if you're interested. I'm a huge fan of the game though so that probably colors my attitude.

Yeah I have been thinking the same thing.

Say don't you have an Oculus and a Vive? Do you have the Touch controllers? Do you think it's possible to use Touch controllers with the Vive in Revive? Touch emulation is decent for the Vive controllers, but I wonder if mixing and matching like that could be possible.

I have both, but no, you can't mix the controllers and headsets. You wouldn't want to anyway since you'd not only need to setup both tracking systems, you'd also need to calibrate them both with the same origin, which would be virtually impossible, so something would always be a bit off. I doubt anyone's really even attempting to make something like that work.

Yeah, the Touch controllers communicate with the Rift headset itself wirelessy, so unfortunately there is no mix-matching.

Sorry guys I went kinda quiet after tuesday evening, I figured out why I was feeling sick after that serious sam session. I was... sick :v:

Didn't play any since, but played some with a friend just now, we finished the first 4 levels it was great. My cable gets all twisted after all the circle strafing though. I had zero issues with my cable in other games, but here I have to actively try to circle strafe in both directions, and sometimes it's just not possible due to level layout etc, so it inevitably gets twisted.

Nice user/post combo

The detailed notes in the article are pretty horrifying. Girl started out saying she was like a 19 year old prostitute, and then when she goes "actually, I'm 15," his reaction is "how many condoms do you have, we're going to need a lot, or maybe we could just go without them." Jesus

It's always really hard to get a true sense of people you work with. I don't think he had much involvement in dev outreach so I never met him personally, but I'm sure everyone on the R&D team is pretty bummed out right now. :(

Chronos on the Daily Deal for $40 $20! :toot: I probably would have caved today and got it for $25 if it wasn't--my Touch is scheduled for delivery on Wednesday, which should spoil me for gamepad games, so best to play it now.

Also, I Expect You to Die for $25 $17, which means I no longer have to wonder if I made the right decision picking up the Climb a few days ago on the daily, and not part of the Touch launch bundle. Now if I bought the rest of the bundle games individually, I'd still end up under $90 :sweatdrop:

Do folks here recommend Space Pirate Trainer? It looks good, but I haven't seen it talked about much. I seem to remember another similar-genre game pages back that people were saying was better? For sure I'll get Superhot VR and Kingspray.

If anyone with a Vive or Oculus Touch cares to try out a new build, we're probably going to launch this over the next 48 hours on Steam. It's an update to Skeet: VR Target Shooting. The update includes

-Oculus Touch support
-New UI
-3 new game modes, and a modified quickdraw for front-facing HMDs.
-A new gun
-Global and Friend leaderboards for each gun/mode combination
-Teleporting so users who have unique setups can still play

Here's a link, feel free to PM or e-mail me (my username@gmail.com) any input. The game's free, as is the update, but we'll have a trophy and leaderboard icon for a 'support the devs' DLC.

Anyone here have been playing The Art of Fight? God that game is amazing. I just bought it on the winter steam sale and I hope the community in it doesn't die out because it's very fun. It's basically Counterstrike VR complete with artificial locomotion. They have two locomotion modes. An "easy" mode where you just press a button to artificially move and a "pro" mode where you have to swing your arms to move. Honestly I don't like the pro locomotion mode because it takes a lot more work to move but it seems to be the only way you can climb I think.

I also discovered that I have an extremely high tolerance to artificial movement since I've been playing for two hours using the "easy" artificial locomotion mode where I glide across the level without the safety capsule turned on, and I feel completely fine. It feels like skiing, and it doesn't break immersion for me either. I just wish there was a way to climb using the easy mode locomotion.

Has anyone been playing this?

Smashbox Arena is another good one, and its multiplayer community is growing daily. If you're looking for a dodgeball game that is even better than the rec room one, this is it.There's lots of cool powerups like sniper balls, fire balls, boulder balls, shields, etc. Locomotion is handled by teleportation, but it's done in the Unreal Tournament style of teleportation where you shoot out a translocator device and then teleport to the spot it lands. You can even fake people out with it by cancelling it before it lands! I highly recommend this game. The community is very friendly too.

The worst is when you get children put on the sex offender list for life for child pornography because they sent naked pictures of themselves to a boy/girl in their own age group. I don't know if that's a USA only thing, but it's pretty hosed up imo.

Art of Fight is awful. The map is too small and fights end in an instant. Onward is so much better as a shooter since each round actually feels meaningful. That's without mentioning people looking like idiots with the "pro" locomotion mode.

Onward is a game that really needs different modes with different time limits so it can cater for the crowd that prefer the slower pace. However, with its current roster of maps 6 minutes is perfect as it incentivises fast attacks.
