Been playing this for a few months, and I swear you need to have a squad of your own to do anything decent. Solo it's a crap shoot for winning or losing. I do some really dumb poo poo like rushing with a BB. But overall I love the game as I can play then die and tab out to do other things until battle is over. It's a game I got primarily to see if it would be something my uncle and grandfather would be interested in (both are ex Navy ). It sure can be fun but I have a lot to learn. The grind is real trying to get a full USN set.

This might sound weird, but I think I like Neptune better than Minotaur. Maybe I'm just not used to Minotaur yet. Also, lol at all this camo I now have. I only have 3 ship lines not at tier 8. :/ I guess I can save it. Fake edit Now that I have CE on my Russian DD captain, should I be using the spotting range mod or the concealment mod on my Tashkent (currently running the concealment mod).

You'll want AFT, SE, and DE probably in that order instead. As for the spotting versus concealment, get the concealment mod. You still won't be able to hide even with the CE skill, so might as well go the other way and make yourself a complete rear end in a top hat while you are spotted. However, the spotting doesn't provide enough compared to concealment even on a rus dd. It is just to give you a little extra room to shutdown your guns and disappear.

Well, gently caress it. Home sick and wanted some fun, watch Flamu's video hoping to get some duplicates. Went 3x$3 got 50 exp flags (when video wasn't playing)... then I hit play and got Arizona and Marblehead.

Every battleship in the game is viable at its tier full-stop for the ability to project instant deletion across a very wide area. Battleships have advantages over other battleships in 1v1 situations depending on the flow of the game and positioning, but none of them are 'obvious turds'

In comparison to their tier-mates, American battleships are noticeably worse at high tiers. You can't debate this. Their winrates, average damages, etc. are the lowest from T7 onwards (ignoring premiums). The same is true of IJN DDs.

The American BBs (and for that matter, my argument is that all BBs are like this) can have a decisive impact on a game if played well. One final point: American battleships were the first line I played when I started. I have no regrets. It's the only line I have that I've gotten past tier 8. Hence I recommend them as viable ships that are fun to play. Okay I'm done.

Yea, US BBs are anything but trash. Trash is stuff like the Pensacola, with no armor, no concealment, and unexceptional guns. Or the Myogi, or the many Japanese DDs that have been nerfed a million times. NC has more accurate and higher caliber guns than Bismark, best in tier AA, better maneuverability, and better firing angles. Bismark has hydro and better tankability from broadside shots. The secondaries are fun to see light off, but practically they rarely do more damage than a single full main gun salvo. Amagi has the best firepower but suffers on the AA front and has to expose far more broadside than NC to use it's guns.

Some ships are easier to play than others... this accounts from what we see stat-wise from the community as a whole vs. standouts we encounter in-game. The atago is a really bad ship in the hands of lovely players, almost unstoppable in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing.

Montana is arguably better at killing anything that's not a battleship than either of its two counterparts. More guns, faster tracking, and better accuracy (with the US exclusive module) than Yamato means that against cruisers and destroyers it's far more likely to hit, and where it wants to at that, and 16" shells are perfectly fine against those targets. GK is more arguable given WG's moronic policy of giving German 16" guns a significantly faster reload speed, along with the same number of guns, but the accuracy argument still carries over, which makes a difference at the ranges most cruisers prefer to keep from battleships at T9-10. The problem is that WG keeps making high tier gameplay more and more focused on battleships, due to the largest portion of the player base primarily playing those, and a huge number of them being whiny babies who think nothing smaller should threaten them. edit: It's perfectly capable of killing battleships too, of course, but it doesn't have any advantages over enemy ones like Yamato and GK do, and generally relies on finding one turning and presenting broadside as opposed to simply penning through bows or charging and bringing secondary arrays to bear.
