After doing a lot of weddings and local portrait and product work I got pretty burned out on photography some how. So around late 2009/early 2010 I quit and sold everything. I took a couple random photos with a friends 5D Mk II here and there but nothing serious and I had never used a Canon.

Last month I actually started to miss it enough to buy crap and start taking photos again for fun. This is the first result of me going to a waterfall that is annoying to frame because there aren't really any good angles without wading and getting wet. Forgive me I'm trying to re-learn most of the nuances of taking photos and framing things again. Had to crop the top off of this one because it was boring and it's just been a dull grey every day I've gone out.

So I recently bought an Olympus OM1n from Deaders. Put a cheaper roll of Kodak Gold 200 in it to give it a test spin. What an absolute dream to shoot. I'd say that the medium format gear is going to be getting a little rest for a while...

You're a smart lad, deaders. The OM series are my favourite 35mm cameras, even though the setup is different to most others. I think it's a lot quicker to use than the usual setup with a shutter dial on top. The big viewfinder is also an absolute joy to use. I'm actually thinking about getting an OM-2n to complement my OM-1. I borrowed an OM-4Ti awhile back and that's a fantastic camera as well, with a very advanced and great meter.

Edit: great and tiny lenses as well!
