Before I sought out anything JoJo on my own, all the fanart and references I came across made me think the franchise could be boiled down to just the Stand stuff and the silly stuff. Imagine my surprise when I finally catch most of the first series of the new anime on Toonami and it's deathly serious, and I find out Stands don't come up until the third series.
