A gas station I pass by on my way to work has changed prices four times in the last couple days. Day before yesterday it was $2.35 on my way to work. $2.45 on my way home. $2.55 on my way to work today, $2.67 on my way home. What happened to not changing the price until a new tank comes in, goddamn.

That's a thing? The price here changes every morning. Often there's something in the news that means prices will go up in a few months, and petrol companies are nothing of not early adopters...

I don't know if any other states have this, but Wisconsin, by state law, requires gasoline to be priced at least 9.8% above the price at the gasoline distribution terminal. I believe this was designed to protect small mom and pop gas stations from bigger chains, and I suppose it works in that regard, but overall it's stupid.

I only know this because I'm generally passing by when there's a tanker in, and I probably pay way more attention to dumb poo poo than I should. (Which means it could also all just be in my mind)

Where I grew up, the stations changed their prices at least every day, and sometimes twice a day. Always cheapest on Tuesdays and 25-30% more expensive on the weekends. Every station in town would be within a few cents of each other no matter what. It's just racketeering, obviously.

I've seen the prices change (on the newer electronic signs) as I'm pulling in. It seems like it's mostly once or twice a day here when the market is a bit volatile, then they'll go several days when it's a bit more sta-bil.

Here in Vancouver they ramp the price up on a whim. There was a specific time I remember last year when the average price Canada wide dropped a few cents per litre, and in Vancouver it spiked over 10 cents/L overnight.

Americans sound like idiots when they complain about petrol prices. My local, suburban station currently has its 95 RON fuel at 14.32 SEK/litre. That's about 6 USD/gallon - at Trumpian exchange rates - and nobody's making a stink about it.

Yeah but you dont drive a 10 year old SUV with a thirst for oil, a lust for gas, and fuel efficiency better defined in gallons per mile.

Also, over half of that is taxes which fund your socialist utopia with healthcare and education and bridges that aren't about to collapse.

Don't forget the fact that public transit exists and you can use bicycles without worrying about a fat person in an SUV running you over while checking their iPhone.

We'll see we built out our country when oil was basically free and gutted our public transit so if you don't drive you're gonna be homeless. There's no excuse for the SUV thing though. That's pure yankee FYGM.

A miracle they both lived. Cage was built to minimum spec to save weight, but did at least not collapse. Failed to keep head and limbs inside the chassis. Cutting grams should definitely be your first priority when doing your first Pikes Peak . More photos here. http://www.specialstage.com/forums/showthread.php?46306-Pikes-Peak-Foley-crash/page6

Yeah, in the movie, it was evil-toon-in-hiding-Judge-Doom' plan, because only a 'toon could come up with something so ridiculous as to dismantle cheap public transport to force people to use cars on highways. They may have been making a comment there.

Cutting grams should definitely be your first priority when doing your first Pikes Peak . Yes, cage did collapse, passenger seat even ripped off the mount. A good example of why those half-assed "nascar" door bars are a bad idea. Any deflection and they are crushing your seat. Also notice the main hoop only had one diagonal supporting the driver's side. If you're ever going to have a passenger you need both sides. FIA bars, window nets, and door bars in an "X" would have probably fared better. And by door bars in an "X" I mean two continuous tubes bent to meet each other. We had some misunderstandings on that the last time it came up... I worked at 7-Eleven for a couple of years. Our prices were entirely based on the prices of the three nearest competing stores. A manager or someone else in the company would drive by a competitor, and whatever their price was, we'd go two cents lower. They would often respond in kind, and then a mini price war would result. The price could change ten times a day. It had little to do with the cost of gas. The gas is basically a loss leader to get people to buy coffee and soda. AFAIK basically nobody makes money by selling gas. Also, in my state chains weren't allowed to coordinate prices between locations so we weren't allowed to talk to our other stores about their prices.
