The proposed budget is loving hilarious. They propose adding $9 trillion to the deficit over nine years, with it getting progressively bigger every year and capping out at $1 trillion in 2026.

Deficit spending only destroys the country and hurts our freedoms when the other guys do it silly. Now let me tell you how the Obama Economy was so bad from 2008 until Trump and how removing all the regulations and imposing tariffs is the only way to fix things.

You know, I'd prefer Mike Pence at this point. It's obvious Trump is going to roll over on everything domestically, so there's not much of a difference between the two of them outside of Pence at least knowing how government works. He has a son in the Marines so at least he has a stake in this game and probably less inclined to do anything batshit crazy foreign policy wise.

I wouldn't discount Flynn's influence here, especially if you apply the "Trump's opinion is that of the last person he talked to" interpretation. The few details in that article are pretty vague, but seem to imply a reduced analytical function and increased gathering/operations function - and Flynn has wanted to control covert operations for a long time. Less analysis also suits Trump/Flynn - they probably don't think they require it, in the vein of other paranoid, vengeful leaders.

To be fair, the inevitable government welfare for Exxon will make that $180m look like lunch money, so they'll be happy to pay it to shut up the one journalist asking questions between Trump tweets.

Two Finger posted:christ at least try to hide your gigantic payouts to your mates Nah, to his credit he complied with the guidelines of the OGE (or whoever it is that manages financial ties for appointees) and put all of his assets into a blind trust, in addition to selling off all of his shares of Exxon and agreeing to not work in the energy sector for 10 years following his leaving office.

Can't wait to check out e-Chirp. For those non-IC folks, e-Chirp is essentially Twitter on the high side. It was intended to be an information sharing platform, but like all social media devolved into memes and pissing contests. It is, however, a somewhat useful tool to gauge the pulse of the IC to see what the worker bees are thinking and not necessarily what the policy makers are saying. And before OPSEC Wizard says something, this is all public knowledge.

As a non-IC guy I liked e-Chirp because it was a good source for breaking stuff that would normally take a week or so to work it's way through like 3 iterations of an admiral's staff brief and be chopped all to hell. Also it was useful for finding stuff on high side because searching blindly is so loving painful.
