There's a massive artery that goes right through your armpit. It's actually one of the most quickly lethal places to get stabbed/shot/etc, so you want to be very aware of any damage happening to it.

"nerve ending" isn't a synonym for "mechanorecptor", there are other types of nerve endings :colbert:

I got a full sleeve done a couple of years ago and my wrist and the elbow itself were subjectively the worst - I guess that similar to clavicle in that it's just skin & bone without a lot of muscle involved in between.
Ditch and near-armpit weren't fun, either, but I'd take that over the bony areas every time.
