I missed FEAR but from what I read it was terrible, so nothing of value was lost.

I would probably recommend Hitman for later viewing, it had some funny glitches and snitch dogs, naked man strats and lots of squatting in public places.

How was the MGS2 run? Was dead of the night here, so I missed it.

Because the goof is all mine.
It was pretty good, but there was about a 10 or 15 minute pause near the start to fix some audio issues

I would recommend Silent Hill 4 and Hitman from the runs I've seen since waking up this morning.

This Kalimba game looks pretty rad, and the run is both chill and impressive. And I think that's the dev on Skype.

Yeah, Kalimba should really be one of the must-watch games if you didn't catch it. Relatively short, incredibly impressive running, good couch commentary and even a dev on the phone making noises and providing little of value.

Super Hook Girl is a pleasure to watch. This game just goes. Also commentary from Blechy!

NOT ENOUGH RED ORBS ARGH
My favorite runs so far (that I've watched) have been:

- Ocarina of Time 3D (even more glitches I haven't seen before and solid commentary)
- Mega Man race (it was cool to see the all levels category)
- Metal Gear Solid 2 (the strategies to get through each room were really cool, "okay gonna knock on this wall at this exact time then run over and hold up this person for a frame and then we can pass by")
- Hitman: Blood Money (a lot of really funny AI manipulation)
- Kalimba (I didn't watch most of this but when I tuned in it looked really high-skill and hypnotizing to watch)

Super Hook Girl seems like a game I'd love to try but I'd suck at completely.

Adding Kalimba and Super New Hook Girl on my recommendations list too. They are both quite short but sweet.

As someone who loves grappling hooks, New Super Hook Girl is a bad game because the controls are terrible.

Download it here and suffer like I did.

Well, my list so far:

- Ocarina of Time 3D - crazy glitches, very good commentary
- Shovel Knight - really tight race, also great commentary
- Mega Man - same here, very good race
- Hitman : Blood money - good couch, fun glitches
- Kalimba - crazy skill involved, runner playing co-op by himself, effectively controlling 4 characters at the same time
- New Super Hook Girl - lots of skill, fast pace, short game

I agree with this list. Extra much with the Blood money part, hence the bolding.

Ah okay thanks, I didn't hear it on commentary, and twitter isn't my strong suit so I missed it, appreciate the info.

I think the other thread might be more appropriate, but there's been some drama with one of the couch people being banned.

lol yeah, some people got booted after literally the first run. I think OP asked to keep drama out of this thread but in the chill meme AGDQ thread, there was discussion of it yesterday

Someone who was supposed to couch got banned for wearing a Trump hat (because there's a "no political apparel" rule) and threatened to sue GDQ over it. Given this guy's history, he probably did it intentionally to start poo poo.

The Saga

Talk about things that happened at the event is all cool and good, just be civil about it and don't blow it up into something stupid. Since, I mean, people not on site aren't going to know all the details of what happened (and most non-staff people on site won't either) and throwing around rumours and pastebins and twitters isn't going to lead anywhere. But yes, there was an incident involving Make America Great Again hats during the Ape Escape 2 run (and getting the hotel wifi banned from 4chan by posting Ape Escape porn on a sfw board during the run, because things weren't absurd enough already), and both the people that have been banned so far had gotten warnings in the past, from all I hear, and were kind of known for pulling stupid things like this.

Crown jewel of it all was the guy threatening legal action, because that's totally a thing that's going to work in response to being booted from a private event.

I'll Nth the OoT 3D run. There's a major glitch around the 1:25:00 mark that, to me, perfect encapsulates the kind of glitches you love to see in a speedrun. It breaks the game, it makes almost zero sense, and it looks and sounds hilarious.

My personal favorite glitch was right near the end when Link was just doing a deadpan stare at Ganon coming out of the rubble.

Definitely a great run overall. I want to rewatch it after the event's over.

Before anybody gets all CENSORSHIP the only reason the AE2 run isn't up yet it because the video is slightly broken and I'm fixing it before making it live.

Not that it stops anybody on Twitter of course.

Also there's something afoot with the Youtube copy of the OOT3D run - the screen goes black for a split second every few minutes.
