Averaging 46% includes both well defended and not well defended. If you have an opportunity for a clean 3 or a layup you always take that, every player follows that. But defenses are trying to prevent that too. No defense is giving up free midrange jumpers, and if your better than average at that you now have to put more effort defending it and you are more likely to generate points when that's the only thing you have.

It also means that that's a shot CJ can always get. So when everything else is covered or a play breaks down, you can give the ball to CJ and he can score with his pull up jumper.

So I was cycling through podcasts and saw one of the dunc'ed guys was on BBallbreakdown, who apparently has a podcast of their own now. Less than 10 minutes in, I hear "Jerian Grant is a great 3 point shooter" followed almost immediately by "Why don't the Thunder use Morrow and Ilyasova more?" from Coach Nick And this was all because he was complaining about thunder fans
