Well I don't think after 16 years the Shrub Presidency is seen any more fondly than it was back then, since even the Republicans have tried to distance themselves and Junior has completely left politics; however who knows how perceptions will be altered by 4+ years of Trump.

Well, it's kind of my point exaclty; like the ambiguity of the (para)phrasing "if you go to war, a great kingdom will fall", history shining brighter on something is a relative statement. A dim chapter of history will certainly seem bright when placed next to an eclipse.

Somfin posted:Tinsley just sad that no-one will mourn his passing. I can imagine the cartoon may be about a family plan, but even then, the deductible can be a misleading number, because apparently a lot of people think that means you pay everything out-of-pocket until you reach that magic number, which is not the way it is. If $7000 represents the annual cost of the premiums for a family plan, it's certainly realistic, but then you're talking about coverage for multiple people. I actually argued with a guy about this a few months back, because while I'm sure there are horror stories and what he was describing was a lot like what is in the cartoon here, my experience is the ACA has been a godsend and while it's not perfect I will defend the gently caress out of it in the face of the nothing that is in line to replace it. It took me a while to find out he was paying so much because he missed the deadline to enroll for subsidies. How he can blame the ACA for this situation I don't know, but he did. Also note the man in the cartoon is in a bar drinking when he appears unable to afford to pay for clothes or the care of his family. My insurance has a yearly out of pocket for anything we have to pay. Hospital visits, specialty equipment uses, copay. Once we meet that yearly amount we no longer have to pay until the next year starts, which is really helpful if you can just plan on not going to the hospital until december.

I met my 5000 deductible in December... we might now make it this year in January because we just had a baby (bill before insurance looks to be at 4.8k ) Love the piss out of our little one though

Congratulations on the birth! I've heard crazy things on how costly giving birth is. Much like everything in the US that is basically made to bleed you dry and yet Conservatives just expect you to deal with it while still trying to be pro life without actually giving a poo poo once the baby is born. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tct38KwROdw
