It isn't like it's a hindsight thing either. People were laughing about it when it happened. If you commit that much money into your QB, you better know that it'll work. Because not only are you stuck with Brock for another year, you have all that money tied up in a position that is actively preventing you from upgrading other positions. You have to extend Hopkins and Clowney soon, among other players. Signing Brock could legitimately cost the Texans a really good player that they developed.

Things that made you happy: Seahawks won a playoff game for the 5th year in a row Things that surprised you in a good way: Darrell Bevell's playcalling improved Things that surprised you in a bad way: Secondary was entirely reliant on Earl Thomas Favorite Player this season: Doug Baldwin. Unsung hero: KJ Wright Player you hated beyond belief this season: Jermaine Kearse Worst storyline about your team: Defensive stars fighting with typically lax Seattle media (both Sherman and Bennett) Most unappreciated aspect to the team this year by everyone: Luke Willson is a really good backup TE that can both catch and block Best win of the season: @Patriots. Still the only team to beat Brady this year as of now. Worst loss of the season: @Rams. Considering the tire fire the Rams are it's inexcusable to lose to them, even on the road in their first game back in LA. What the team needs to do this offseason: Get secondary help and replace at the very least the offensive tackles. Preferably the guards too. Funniest moment of the season: 6-6 Do you have hope or despair for the future: Some hope still since the core's still there but the window's closing tight Does anything actually matter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAGnKpE4NCI

The 49ers were a better team and would have blown out the Ravens if LaMichael James didn't fumble that ball early on. That was a major swing in that game. The 49ers were going to go up 10-7 but the Ravens recovered his fumble and drove down the field to make it 14-3 in their favor. If that didn't happen I guarantee you the 49ers go on to win this game by a comfortable margin. And you saw our Dean Pees late-game defense in action. They just fall apart. Though they have the excuse of losing Ngata. The Dean Pees late-game defense... where they stopped the 49ers on 4th down and won the game.

The coolest bear of my lifetime was Peanut Tillman, but Hester was pretty drat close. Hester absolutely belongs in the Hall, he was Arthur C Clarke's "technology sufficiently advanced so as to be indistinguishable from magic" in football form. We've never had another player in football like him, every time he was able to catch it you were terrified that he'd break it. Shame Josh Brown turned out to be a sack of poo poo because I can no longer celebrate his hilarious double armpit takedown of Hester back in his prime. shirts and skins fucked around with this message at 14:27 on Jan 16, 2017 |

Kick returners are like the designated hitters of football. Normally you just shove a guy in there and hope for the best, but if you get someone who's amazing, it can turn around your team. Hester was the best KR of all time, and should be in the hall, even if he was just a specialist and rarely ran offensive plays. Also, yes, Edgar Martinez should be in the hall of fame, why do you ask?

Things that made you happy: Beat the Bills twice for reasons I cant explain when we couldn't beat a fat kid out of his pants Things that surprised you in a good way: Belial Powell doing as well as he did with the few opportunities he touched the ball (this meager achievement is a red flag) Things that surprised you in a bad way: Multiple starters of the team checked out of the season completely around.... week 4? week 5? Favorite Player this season: No one. They all deserve disdain in one way or another. Unsung hero: I would say Bryce Petty. No, he wasn't good, but he was thrown into games down 20 points with an offensive line leakier than the Titanic but at least HE WAS TRYING Player you hated beyond belief this season: Wilkerson had the absolute worst season of his career after getting his huge contract. Didn't bother to show any effort 14 weeks out of the season. Dishonorable mention to Revis for literally WALKING towards other players and not giving a poo poo 12 weeks out of the season. Worst storyline about your team: The team very visible stop putting in any effort at all, and on the public stage of MNF. Todd Bowles declares "I didn't think the effort was that bad" Most unappreciated aspect to the team this year by everyone: The poor bastards who had to show up every week and still had to play because they live paycheck to paycheck Best win of the season: The first matchup against the Bills. It wasn't a perfect win, but at the time looked like with some coaching and adjustment, we could be a respectable team (ahahahahahahaha) Worst loss of the season: The Jets had two GAMES FROM HELL deserving this dishonor. 1st would be against the Chiefs, where Todd Bowles in his infinite wisdom, refused to bench Fitzpatrick even though he threw 6 INTERCEPTIONS IN A VERY WINNABLE GAME . The 2nd was against the Colts, where the Jets mentally forfeited the game with 55 minutes of regulation remaining. What the team needs to do this offseason: O-Line, Corners, Linebackers, running back, special teams, center, QB... did I miss anything? Funniest moment of the season: Todd Bowles, presumably under gunpoint, is forced to bench Fitzpatrick for the abortion that was the Chiefs game. Geno Smith, stepping foot on an NFL field for the first time in 2 years, tears his ACL within minutes, thus turning the ship back in Fitzpatrick's vile hands. Do you have hope or despair for the future: Hope... but not for 2017. The best we could hope for is the team has a decent off-season now, Todd Bowles suicides the Jets to 2-14, and we draft a franchise QB for the 2018 season. Does anything actually matter At the beginning of the season I thought the worst the Jets could do was 6-10. Oops

Chiefs recap Things that made you happy: all the comeback wins, rookies Chris Jones and Tyreek Hill looking like great starters, sweeping the AFC West including 3 great primetime divisional games Things that surprised you in a good way: Tyreek Hill being more than just a lovely gadget player like Dexter McCluster or De'Anthony Thomas. Dee Ford being not bad. Marcus Peters continuing to develop and not being a 1-season wonder. Things that surprised you in a bad way: The offense still looking bad despite adding a good RT, deep threat WR. Alex Smith regressing from last year. The OL being inept and just soft despite having lots of high-round picks and "raw talent", unable to pick up stunts, unable to get a push in the run game. Favorite Player this season: Eric Berry Unsung hero: Parker Ehringer. The run game completely collapsed after he got put on IR. Player you hated beyond belief this season: I didn't really hate anyone beyond belief, but Jeremy Maclin and the interior OL were disappointments this season. Eric Fisher for the playoff penalty, and having a generally terrible game. Worst storyline about your team: I dunno Most unappreciated aspect to the team this year by everyone: I dunno, I have a pretty bad understanding of what people think of the Chiefs Best win of the season: The first Raiders win in Oakland. One of the few games this season where KC dominated for all 4 quarters and the outcome of the game wasn't in question. The crazy OT Denver game is second on the list. Worst loss of the season: Losing to Pittsburgh, either time What the team needs to do this offseason: Revamp the interior OL with bigger, nastier guys with an attitude and desire to dominate. Look for Alex Smith's replacement. Re-sign Eric Berry. Funniest moment of the season: Kelce throwing his towel at a ref Do you have hope or despair for the future: I have hope, the team's got a good young core and is adding impactful rookies every year under John Dorsey. Need a good QB on the roster for long-term hope though. Does anything actually matter: Lots of stuff....family, friends, career, fitness, love Pron on VHS fucked around with this message at 21:36 on Jan 16, 2017 |
