I'm almost done with Ch. 3 of my warrior and probably won't play him past the class story, but I'm really going to miss riding in elevators with Vette.

In other news, last night I Googled a workaround for a bug I ran into on a mission. The workaround was posted on the forums in 2013. Glad to see that got taken care of...

I'll grab it on Imp in a bit if no-one else does first.

OK show of hands, who would be interested in running the occasional OP pub side? Say once per conquest week? I will take charge of organizing a thing pub side if so (I will continue to be a mindless F1 masher Imp side) bc those conquest points are sooo tempting.

Gonna need that tank mount.

In other news, I sold a Senya Tirall's Lightsaber for 60 million the other day. I am still flabbergasted as to how someone could want something that badly.

New player. About to hit level 20 and haven't had to use a health pack or my self heal ability once. Game is annoyingly easy. Does it get more difficult or do I have to purposely gimp myself by not taking a companion / something else?

The leveling experience is just really easy. You can up the ante once you get to KOTFE by turning on Veteran Mode for the missions, but it's just going to be easy until you get there.

Bah, I was going to play all the storylines before picking a class to go into the expansions with but if it stays this easy it will be pretty mind numbing. Will pick one and burn through - thanks!

You could probably up the difficulty by setting your companion into dps mode but yeah it's a pretty easy solo game now.

Mix up the leveling. Do PvP, solo FPs, and a healthy dose of heroics so you can skip all but the class (and maybe story) missions on each planet.

Also, if I can offer some advice for someone wanting to play all the stories--don't go straight Republic/straight Imperial. Alternate between factions otherwise it WILL get mind numbing real fast.

Dismissing your companion by sending them on long crafting busywork is also an option.

Manually dismissing them after every area change and conversation is just tedious.

Seconding this bit of wisdom. When I was going through a bunch of throwaway characters for unlocking things, I did go through bits of doing same faction classes back to back and it did get grating at times pretty badly. Alternating factions breaks up the monotony pretty well though I do up it a bit further since I do have characters on two servers to alternate faction and server to keep things divergent enough.

However, fleet chat...fleet chat never changes.

My big problem with switching factions is that the fleets are similar in some ways but backwards in other ways, and I always find myself going the wrong way. :saddowns:

The fleet stations are complete mirrors of each other, if something is in the upper left area of Carrick it's in the lower right of Vaiken. You even go down instead of up to get to the Cartel Market. Real cute.

But when you use a fleet pass, you don't wind up in the same relative position. It's all backwardsized.

No. Concealment is infinitely more fun in PvP.

Hard to kill, hard to get kills. 5.0 added survivability which they already had too much of and didn't add any burst which they desperately need. Lots of fluff damage/heal numbers if you want to run up the scoreboard and impress noobs.

Best node guards though.

All 3 Ops specs are inferior to their Inquisitor analogues right now...Hatred > Madness > Lethality, Deception > Concealment, Corruption > Medicine.

Holy hell does anyone at Bioware have a degree in math? Get a 236 Relic to replace my 208...first clear upgrade in nearly a hundred GC lvls.

But wait! Let's go to fleet and check the Bolsterizer...a nearly 12% downgrade under Bolster.

Why? Why would you have anything under 230 Bolster above 230?

Forgive my ignorance but uh... how do you check the "Bolsterizer?" I have no idea how bolster works - I have a full set of 228 gear. Does it still do something beyond that?

The Ziost Shadow got to the Bridge level. On the map the Training Area will be labeled and there'll be a clickable Bolsterizer that'll apply Bolster.

Bolster is for PvP, it provides a boost to your stats. Under 70 it's suppose to make lower lvls more competitive and at 70 it's suppose to make sure everyone is competitive no matter what gear you have.

I don't think anyone knows the exact formula it's mostly experimentation. My complaint is that it's very unintuitive since a higher ilevel doesn't necessarily mean better under Bolster such as my 208 Relic being superior to a 236 Relic of the same variety.

There are some mounts and a lot of legacy gear sets. You won't lose the ability to hand those crates in so don't worry about missing out. You can carry on with the story and just hand those crates in as and when you feel like it. There are some associated achievements with the Star Fortresses though so you'll want all the alliance members to rank 10 at some point if you want that.

Hasn't that been broken for years now? Or is it actually working again?

I saw a post noting that you're far better off wearing your old 208 PvP gear into a warzone rather than your 230 Tier 1 Galactic Command stuff due to bolster. That just pisses me off, I really wish we didn't have to deal with bolster - it should at MOST put you at "entry level" endgame.
