i'm playing on ps4 so I dunno for the vita sorry also i bought the NOBLE PHANTASM edition which comes with like a 100 page hardcover book that reprints like everything in the in-game gallery and encyclopedia lol

Fate/Extella is good fun. It doesn't feel as good as a Warriors game would but the controls feel good and it has that satisfying "beat up a lot of things" feeling to it. Better than I expected from Marvelous. I'm playing on the Vita and it seems to be stable. I'm not the kind of person who notices if something running at 30 dips to 28 for half a second but I've never felt like the game's performance was dragging down my experience. I am also trying to play through La Mulana EX and I keep getting stuck. Does anybody know of a good guide somewhere that just might have some hints without outright telling me the answers? If I'm not figuring out a puzzle it's one thing but sometimes I get stuck because I think there's a puzzle I'm not solving but I actually just don't have an important item yet, and a guide that will nudge me not to bash my head against situations like that would be a big help.

I saw the announcement for this yesterday. How is the story? The announcement articles talk about main character amnesia-itis and apparently a penchant for politics, but does that work better than it sounds in this case? I watched like half of the newest anime and thought it had fun characters but ended up dropping it because it spend way too long just introducing new characters without moving any plot forward. In conclusion it could be decent but I wouldn't expect anything too great. Also the first anime has a very silly plot twist that I'm looking forward to seeing play out if that was an adaption of one of the games being brought over.

The first anime was based on Utawarerumono: The One of Whom Legends Are Sung, the first game in the series. The ones being brought over are The False Faces and The Pure Emperor (I think?) which are being brought over as Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth, the second and third games. They're somewhat connected, in that characters from the first game pop up in the second and third, but the latter two games are basically their own duology. It's got really good characters, decent combat (SRPG with timed hits), and some fun political stuff, but it does get bogged down in everyone sitting around planning their next move and introducing themselves to each other. On the one hand, that does give it a kind of laid back tone that makes it easy to get attached to the characters, but on the other hand it does mean the plot moves really slowly, yeah. The best character in the franchise is the samurai girl who does a bunch of cool sword poses on a rope bridge, accidentally cuts it, falls 50 feet, then shows up fifteen maps later acting like she's been your cool rival the entire time. And then in the sequels she's just dating a random drunk girl.

That sounds like something I would be down for then. I can handle the plot or dialog dragging a bit if the characters are interesting enough to make up for it. The two they are bringing over being relatively self-contained is also a plus.
