So are most of the CA remote TAG 'pilots'. Avatar's is only higher because its starting WIP is ridiculous. I think it's an acceptable balance to the strength of G:RP in general, and the fact you can use the Remote pilot almost expendably - it can get killed, you just Reset with your Locked TAG and it's good to go again. A manned TAG pilot has to physically go back and climb in and if he dies, the TAG is useless.

It was confirmed this morning that only the Sphinx uses the WIP10 CA bot. The Xeodron and Overdron use the same one as the Avatar.

If you really want to look at who gets screwed it's the Tohaa. The Gorgos can't get back into its Symbiont Armor if it "dismounts".

I know it's probably because TO Camo and all that, but I like to think that someone at CB specifically wanted to gently caress the Shasvastii.

I think these new rules are going to have a lot of repercussions. The Gecko and Xeodron are basically specialist delivery services, cheap but tough enough to just slam into a contested objective. The Gecko especially cause I'm not interested in facing down dual assault pistols, even at BS11.

I haven't read the new rules, but if I isolate a Jotums "crab bot" does that gently caress the Jotum up too?

It certainly makes going second with your TAGs very appealing for a variety of missions.

No, but you gotta reset the TAG to get it running again.

The pilot is only a paramedic. Some real cut rate training for Haqq. :v: They gave her a light shotgun as well, so that's nice.

I actually changed them around from the studio ones and they look a lot better but still well whack. I kept one doing the weird claw leap off a tree stump and he destroys any foam I put him in. :smith:

I've never had the misfortune of assembling old CA, but I would like to take this time to say gently caress assembling Karakuris, I'm literally buying proxy models and converting them because it's easier than putting those goddamn things together.

Carlotta's alright. If you have 14 points you just can't find a better use for, go for it. More Tomcats equals better. Not worth sacrificing a crucial part of your toolkit if those 14 pts will make the difference, though.

These pilot rules are really growing on me. I think TAGs needed something to make them worth taking over HI (other than aesthetic), and this is probably something that will tip the scales for many people.

So are all Manned Tag pilots specialists or am I missing something. Doesn't seem like Iguana changed at all. Poor Lil Iggy

Pierzak
Oct 30, 2010
Iguana operator got specialist operative and pilot skill so presumably they can exit the TAG and return even before they get auto-ejected.

I know this because I have a previous version of that PDF and also when it comes to printing or online things CB can't find their asses with both hands and a sensor.

drat, that makes the Iguana a lot more tempting. Run it up and when it goes down it shits out an hmg wielding HI infantry specialist.

:discourse:

Genghis Cohen
Jun 29, 2013
No one get too excited - I saw on the official forum (don't judge me) that the Iguana change is just a mistake - it is not receiving any specialist skill. This was not from one of the CB staff, but was from the guy who manages the wiki and is essentially the Infinity rules guru.

Really think that's a poor choice if true, honestly. Far less influential to have specialist on an Operator (who only comes into play once the TAG is destroyed) than on a Pilot who can climb in and out at will. Just makes Geckos even more attractive over the Iguana.

Nice job! I assembled mine, had them fall apart in my KR case, reassembled them, watched them fall apart again, and then purchased 4 plastic Hormagaunts off eBay and consigned the actual Hungry models to the bitz box.

It feels like skill creep is hitting new units pretty hard. Look at the most recent dire foes and things like the al-fasid.

I don't know if its hurting the game yet, but the trajectory is a bit worrying.

As a Shasvastii player with an outdated codex from previous edition, what game am I playing again?

Seriously though, CB is kinda hard to understand in that regard. On the one hand they're excellent at balancing and testing stuff, and then they do something completely moronic like not taking crits into account when unit costing, or leaving unit balancing and rule hooks (I'm looking at you CA Cybermask upgrade) for some future expansion, because it's not gonna bother anyone in the ~2 years before the new book.
