You want a tread depth gauge that measures to the 1/128th, but are worried an actual caliper won't be calibrated well enough to get that? Pretty much no tire depth gauge is going to be more accurate than a #30 amazon caliper. Here's a suggestion: don't worry so much about how long your tires are going to last, and replace them when they are worn out. Every few weeks I have to recalibrate my tread depth gauge with a pair of pliers. If I measure a flat surface and gauge reads about zero that's good enough for me.

Geez I thought that Melbourne thing was terrorism like what happened in Nice. Yeah I am probably overthinking the tires. New car is working pretty well though. I talked to this guy who has a Prius (not a Rav4H) and he's got like 160,000 miles with the original battery pack and loves it.  The sport mode is surprisingly nimble but I only use it if I am in a weird situation like a very short onramp into fast moving traffic. i have a dog trainer coming tomorrow because rascal is super territorial about his house unless he's known you since he was a puppy. He's known most of our friends and all of our family since then but for some reason even though we socialized the crap out of him he does not like people he hasnt known for most of his life just like me  shame too because keeping her one dumb friend out of my house was an upside to this
