Yeah. It almost fees like too much. I don't think there's been 2 weeks that have gone by without something I'm interested in being released. And that doesn't stop until...April? There's even like 5 games that came out that I would have already bought, but I just don't have the time and it's been hard on my wallet.

What's a decent game you can just pick up for 5mins and play a round of that isn't Rocket League, an MMO or an FPS? I asked reddit and they immediated suggested MMOs, FPSes and some game called Rocket League. I love Bloodborne but you gotta put time into that thing.

I'd say 2016 was arguably the best year for games I've ever seen and 2017 seems like it might match it. It's good time to like playing games right now. Really the best thing was the diversity of good games. Just about every type of games had something killer in 2016. A little light on the RPG front I guess but just about everything else was covered.

loving hell Nioh just scratches all my action-rpg itches. It has deeper combat than dark souls, loot piñatas like diablo and a lot of stat sperging. The only thing I don't dig is some of the graphical design that look too busy (or blurry) that I'm sure I would disable if this game had a PC release to make it look more clean and sharp. It's shaping to a day-one purchase so far.

Just picked up Knack and The Order for $10 total. Seems like they are worth it for that. I've been waiting for them to go on PS+, but a game being in a flash sale is always a sign it won't be on plus for at least a few months. The backlog grows...

I'm super hype for Nioh also. The only thing I don't like is that there's maybe a little TOO much flashing glowy poo poo everywhere. They got a pretty good atmosphere going so it seems like kind of a waste of that. I agree about the blurriness, it doesn't look bad to me in general but across the aplha, beta, and this demo it is basically impossible for me to tell how deep water is so I know whether or not to walk in it. I thought it was the brightness of the game/my tv's settings but it seems that way no matter what, makes me kind of wish they just let you swim and dive like in the Ninja Gaiden games. Still I'm loving the game, being able to ambush people with the rifle/bow and arrow is awesome. When I first tried the alpha the controls felt unnecessarily complicated but as soon as you get another weapon/any magic/whatever it's warranted and feels great. If i had one other nitpick it's just that it'd be sick as hell if a dark fantasy game had an industrial percussion kind of soundtrack again instead of typical "regional" music or epic orchestra stuff. I know the appeal of having the main levels be silent but I kind of wish they ripped THAT off from old FromSoftware games too it's like a perfect complement for fantasy w/horror-ish elements games. This may be the wrong thread for this but since I'd be using it with PS4, I'd thought I'd ask anyway...So what does everyone recommend as far headsets? The reviews for the platinum one that just came out aren't encouraging, and though the astro a50 looks cool, As I understand gaming headsets in general aren't recommended. Budget isn't a concern I'd just want something that sounds awesome with good build quality. Decent mic would be bonus.

I know a bunch of other people that have it too and it's a pretty great headset. Better sound quality than those Pulse Elites I used to have, and unlike Sony their headbands aren't awful plastic that'll break over time.

I tried the Nioh demo and remembered that I just do not like the souls type games at all. Then I summoned help and some Japanese dude joined in and KILLED EVERYTHING. I just ran behind him and collected the drops.

I got that "year in review" email from PSN and it said my most played game of 2016 was Fallout 4 with like 40-some hours. I'm pretty sure I played a lot more than that, I platinumed the base game and got the season pass when it was still $30, and did everything with that except for the last half of Nuka World.

We really are in a Golden Age of gaming at the moment and it happened because Sony got their poo poo together with the PS4 after the gently caress up that was the PS3. Also the Wii U may have failed but it had some great games.
