Who was the person whose main takeaway from La La Land was "Black people ruined jazz"? Because I finally saw the film, and I don't follow that reading at all.

In the spirit of antifascism and in honor of brave nazi punch man, does anyone remember the name of that documentary on french youth fighting neonazis in the 70s or so?

Society is wonderfully disgusting. I'm a little bummed I had seen a lot of the stuff out of context in stills on the internet. Going in 100% blind would've been even better. Now for Eyes Wide Shut for the first time in at least a decade.

Triple X 3 is balls retarded and more stupid than fun but the cast is incredible. It does go try to be a Fast and Furious but I love the international cast even if it's no where as good. Dial 9 made the movie and I hope Donnie, Jaa and Padukone get pushed. Even Nina was annoyingly endearing. Even Toni Collette I don't know but has a self aware performance where it feels like I can see the disgust as she says her lines and goes through the motions but it's almost fun to see

Hey is anyone talking about how Split is a sidequel in the same universe as Unbreakable? At the end Bruce Willis shows up and mentions Mr. Glass and it hints that there will be an Unbreakable sequel where Willis fights McAvoy's character lol

Topaz is easily the most boring Hitchcock I've seen. The opening scene is alright, but he's on autopilot on that one. I can't even remember the plot other than John Vernon wearing a Castro beard.

So, aside from the insane pettiness of Spicer's first press conference being him arguing about crowd size at the inauguration, it's also genuinely really creepy to watch. Like, the only comparison I can think of to him boldly declaring something that's wildly, easily disprovable is Baghdad Bob declaring the defeat of the US military as tanks roll into view. It'd be funny if you know, it didn't imply really horrible things coming our way.

The museum sequence is good and looks nice, Newman is fine but not finding anything very interesting in a role that is admittedly way underwritten despite being on screen for all but 5 minutes of a 2 hour movie. Andrews is pretty good but also doesn't have much to work with, and honestly the climax of the killing scene is so silly and shot in such a weird way it's not that tense but also not funny.

It would honestly be good for the press to learn their role as not craving access but speaking truth to power.

Eyes Wide Shut is even better than I remembered. I liked that there are Christmas lights of some sort in nearly every scene. The most notably Christmas light lacking scenes being the spooky masquerade and other things involving the secret society.

xXx was dumb as hell, but I really liked it. It had a good message for the kids (the government is a bunch of shits) and it had a surprisingly diverse cast (primarily women and people of color). Plus Ruby Rose. Like I don't even know if I'm attracted to her or if I wanna just hug her and be her best friend and have sleepovers together.
