I think it is the First Order because some other ex-imperial commander or admrial has another faction somewhere else in the galaxy called The Empire MkII somewhere else and another guy has a star destroyer and his group is called The Flaming Bantha or something.

Luke tried to rebuild the Jedi starting with Kylo and that was obviously a failure (so far). Something new and different needs to be done. As for the quality of the movie, it's being written and directed by Rian Johnson. I guess it just depends on how much influence and interference the studio and the Lucas people have with it.

Luke was probly supposed to die but the'll rewrite it to be Leia now. Her and Rey had that pointless hug at the end of ep 7, so that will be her motivation to do whatever thing blows up the next death star
