A bunch of the stuff was so off-target that it is ridiculous, but they managed to be lovely to some people, still. It is weird how apparently a bunch of people were driven there. Like, you're mad that you're not allowed to write jokes with naughty words in it, or the Photoshop Fridays have gotten worse; okay, but it seems like a weird step to make to join a site build around harassing a mentally ill man for a decade because of it.

Isn't "Beast" also a super common term for pedos in the UK? I remember it being used a lot after the whole Savile debacle. Speaking of which, the thread about the Savile situation and the fallout from the BBC investigation that resulted was genuinely fascinating. Like, not even in a "Goons are sad human wrecks" way, you just got a lot of unique perspective from britgoons who'd heard the rumours over the years, former abuse victims, social workers, etc. It wasn't uplifting, obviously, but it was engrossing from a sociological way, and people largely avoided being assholes in it (I may be retroactively doing the rose colored glasses things there).
