A local "man" has announced intends to sue various public places in town because they will not allow him to wear his full Batman costume on their property. He has been asked to remove his mask at theaters, malls, banks, stores etc. Why is he suing?

Because he identifies as Batman and thus feels he should be allowed to be Batman wherever he goes. He's also 100% serious and 100% out of his loving mind.

I wonder if they'll include that on the official sales list. Loot Crate comics are always automatic #1.

Their first two arcs are great (Evil Jack Kirby, Evil Doctor). But then we get to the arc where Paul Levitz started meddling with the book and it falls apart.

So at this point I've just finished the last of my BSS secret santa stuff and I feel like:
a) an idiot for sleeping on Lucifer all this time
b) Gotham Academy is not for me (but my sister's interested, and will probably be borrowing those soon).

So all in all a huge success of gifting and I need to order myself volume five of Lucifer before I finish this fourth one on my desk.

Hi, are you me? I hadn't read Lucifer until last year despite having been buying comics when it was originally released.

I also recognize the appeal of GA, but yuck, it just didn't do anything for me, despite that type of story typically being my thing.

With not much on last night I watched an episode. Lucifer is one strange show. They basically made him the mentalist and while I didn't mind the actors I really didn't get the impression that Lucifer was....well Lucifer.

What's wrong with it? Aside from the fact that pre-New 52 Dr. Light was a rapist.

Sort of a crosspost from the digital comics thread but Comixology has all(?) of Valerian on sale right now for a pretty good price - I think the cart shows around $75 for the whole thing. Any opinions on the series? A movie being made doesn't mean too much to me (other than it triggering a sale), and I've found French comics to be pretty hit or miss; usually good art but often too wordy, sometimes reliant on specific political/cultural references of that time (I've been reading an old Bilal short comic and it seems super-rooted in something that has not aged), and sometimes obnoxiously "whimsical".
