On an unrelated note, could someone help with the timeline of Funky Winkerbean and Crankshaft? They take place in the same universe but Crankshaft takes place today while FW takes place ten years from now? Do I have that right? Or does Crankshaft take place ten years ago while FW takes place today? It's just all so stupid.

Crankshaft takes place now. Funky Winkerbean did a 10 year jump into the future some time ago, so it takes place 10 years after crankshaft, which is also now. They both take place in the present, just one is 10 years ahead of the other.

Oh gosh I remember this arc. I think this series of strips is very good, if a bit too real. I'm pretty sure that everyone can relate to what Calvin goes through in this storyline.

edit: And also, holy poo poo, that first strip. gently caress you I'm Bill Watterson and where we're going, we don't need discrete panels! I love it when he does stuff like that.

I love reading NSM every day, because it is awesome, but some days I envy the people who come in and just see that one day's comic completely out of context and without any understanding of what kind of comic strip NSM is. Today is one of those days.

Archie is a long-running comic strip based on the line of the popular Archie Comics. Launched by King Features Syndicate in 1947, it features the misadventures of Archie Andrews and his pals.

Bob Montana drew the first issue of the Archie comic book (November 1942). Montana was soon drawing the Archie daily and Sunday strips for 700 newspapers.

After hours at the drawing table, Montana relaxed by sailing his Friendship sloop, the White Eagle, on Lake Winnipesaukee, and taking ski jaunts through the back country near his home. He died of a heart attack on January 4, 1975, while cross-country skiing in Meredith. Dan DeCarlo then took over the strip.

Just in time for the premiere of CW's "Riverdale," where, apparently, Archie is loving Mrs. Grundy. Edgy.
