bizarre deformity posted:Ugh I ran up some stairs and Noct said there was a moogle doll there but I can't find it, I feel so stupid This is just a shot in the dark, but if you have a bridge on your right, back turned towards the downhill slope, it should be in the direction of the bridge, in a window to the left of the bridge. They are small but it can help to just get you camera ready and look around. You don't need to zoom in all that close. You'll get a notice right away if you get a moogle or photo op from the signs. Tried ordering some food. "I've come up with a new recipeee" haha Controlling a chocobo in water is way harder than it should be. Renoistic fucked around with this message at 22:45 on Jan 24, 2017 |

Any ideas on what the Dream Egg does? You get it after staying in the VIP room. Feels like all the carnival is for is to show off the new photo feature, good for people who love photo taking, but not really something that excites me.

The correct lures for fishing in the carnival are the Stormer ones, which you can buy with medals. (Have had the best luck with Chert Focalor so far) I'll report back if I get any good tags Edit: just got the Mog Rank: Rubygold Moogle. Looks like it lets you catch a Redeye Bass. I'm guessing those have better tags? Blackbelt Bobman fucked around with this message at 23:02 on Jan 24, 2017 |

Other than the fishing I've completed everything in the festival. Really enjoyable, and finding all the photo ops was fun - you even get to see Dino up and about! It's a shame the rest of the guys aren't around, though.Kelp Me! posted:it's what you use to revive Jared Renoistic fucked around with this message at 23:29 on Jan 24, 2017 |

Do you know if it's possible to get the costume if you buy the pass now? I was going to buy it eventually anyway. EDIT: The carnival is also a pretty easy way to get materials for Cid's quests.

Hey there, just got platinum, I had fishing and survival left so I thought I'd be clever and do a circuit of the fishing spots. I eventually resorted to looking for a rubber band to get the second half of level nine. I just want to say I usually don't like fishing minigames, I absolutely hated the one in Deadly Premonition, not only was it not fun but it was mandatory. I enjoyed the one time me and my brother went night fishing, but unless video games find away to give me beer and join me in mutual griping about acquaintances I usually don't touch them. But I actually enjoyed it in this game for a while. Don't really have the patience for the liege of the lake though.

The best part of the carnival is that Altissa now has warp points at certain spots, so you don't even really need the gondola much.

qbert posted:2 unique lures, a unique rod and reel that both suck, 2 chocobo race trophy key items, and I think there's an extra mariachi costume for Season Pass holders. Just to add some info to this(or at least how it worked out for me): The unique rod is from the gondola fishing spot at night time. The chocobo lure is from the gondola fishing spot during the day. The rubygold moogle is from the canal fishing spot(the one that isn't closest to where you start) at night time. I am almost positive it doesn't matter what lure you use as long as you attract the fish. You can get everything with the big blaze bahamut or carbuncle lure or something else I'm sure. No idea where the reel is but don't care because it sucks. To get the chocobo trophies, you need to get a time better than 50s for the first course and 1:20s? 1:25s? for the 2nd course. I failed to get it with a 1:29 but got it with a 1:18

I got the unique reel from a catch at night in the fishing spot on the starting island - most likely the first one you come across. It's weaker than the reel from the monster area, so of dubious value.

I've just started playing and am about 2 hours in and I'm pretty onboard for this particular roadtrip. So far it's like what would happen if a child described his dream game "You can go fishing and uhhh, fight monsters and drive the car around the world all in real time, hunt things, collect jewels, camp out, entire cooking system etc etc" like they just crammed loving everything in there. I heard this game took a pretty long time to make but christ does it ever show. Looking forward to where it goes from here.

Finally beat the main story last night after not playing since the holidays (got distracted by Rimworld a16). Chapter 13 was a bit of a slog but not as bad as I had prepared myself for. I mostly ignored the stealth suggestions and blew stuff up instead, which probably helped. Definitely in my top three favorite Final Fantasy games. Looking forward to finishing the Platinum this weekend (I hope).
