I love King of the Hill, and this thread is cool and good and wonderful. But for anyone who hasn't seen the 'latest (2011?) Beavis and Butthead episodes, they should be free to watch on mtv.com /.ca But the important things are right here: https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=Oguyn0fF-Cs https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=jtjqh9XPbv0 https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=PxjYgw3nzc0 Last one is terrible quality, but it's all I could find on mobile. Whatever, you can still hear it. I would love a season of King of the Hill right out of nowhere, like B&B.

spud posted:King of the Hill was amazing and as someone that has never been to Texas, I take it to be a documentary of average Texan life. Can confirm. It is definitely a documentary, on par with anything done by Dian Fossey or E.O. Wilson. Since living in Texas, Boomhauer is now very easy to understand, and I have met people who sound exactly like him. I, too, can speak like Boomhauer, and other Texans can understand me when I do. It's an older dialect, but it is comprehensible.

I feel like Mike Judge was practically a surrogate father to me, the impact that B&B and KOTH had on my view of the world is pretty amazing. When I used to supervise retail I would always tell the employees to think "what would Hank do?" when dealing with customers. Howard Stern fans have probably heard, but Richard Christy shares the same affinity for Judge because it reminds him of his upbringing. He cried when Cotton died and while I don't say I can understand crying over a fictional character, Cotton's death definitely struck a chord with me.

I feel like I missed out on a lot because my parents forbade me from watching either King of the Hill or beavis and butthead (also playing mortal kombat and duke nukem and whatever other thing got a reputation in the news for being vulgar/violent). I've seen them all now and liked them a lot but I think I would have enjoyed especially beavis and butthead more if I saw it when I was in school and could relate to it more.
