I'm looking forward to the thing by the Belzebuub guy, it was one of my favorite comedy manga. It did a great job of never really overstaying its welcome and constantly keeping the comedy at the forefront instead of just devolving into a bunch of shounen battles.

I'm interested in the Hungry Marie and Dr Stone ones, and the Poro's Exchange Student Diary looks cute at least. The U19 thing is extremely clearly a ripoff of Logan's Run and i don't want it to succeed but it probably will

When did Kimetsu no Yaiba start? I'm trying to think of a battle shounen that has survived since Bleach ended. Too bad about Ole Goalazo; it didn't seem entirely terrible. Generally whatever bombed first is what goes to the chopping block. Ibitsu no Amalgam and Spring Weapon No.1 are first then, followed by Demon's Plan and Ole Goalazo. the current state of the official WSJ English stuff is pitiful. Literally down to 4 series I think being actively translated?

Six manga have started serialization since Bleach ended; two are already dead and the other four will soon join them. Kimetsu no Yaiba is doing well as it approaches one year of serialization. It was a moderate success in 2016, with an average rank of 7.2. So far in 2017 it's hit 2nd twice, which is a new high, plus it got a second cover/lead color. I haven't seen much discussion of it here, but I may need to give it a shot. Honestly the only one that really looks interesting on a surface level to me is Hungry Marie, but I could see a couple of the others being good if executed well. I wish luck for all of these Mangaka, though. Also (slightly) more detail on each series here https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...authors/.111485

What about Isobe Isobee Monogatari? Every time I read the Jump TOC it's at the very bottom, and yet it's been going for what, years now? Why hasn't it been axed yet? e. Wiki says 2013. Also lol, right now you have two series that have been running since the late '90s (One Piece and HunterxHunter, though "running" is not really true in the latter case), one that's been running since 2003 (Gintama), and all the others are from 2012 at the earliest. Mikl posted:What about Isobe Isobee Monogatari? Every time I read the Jump TOC it's at the very bottom, and yet it's been going for what, years now? Why hasn't it been axed yet? From MAL: quote:Isobe Isobee Monogatari was originally a one-shot manga published in Shounen Jump in May (#26, 27) to fill in a slot vacated by the suspension of One Piece at that time; however, due to the tremendous amount of positive feedback it received, the manga got serialized.

The number of WSJ veterans has been cut in half from this time last year, when Toriko (2008), Bleach (2001), and Kochikame (1976) were all still running. Now Haikyuu!! is the 4th-oldest series in Jump, and it's hitting its 5-year anniversary in a month.

Shika High Dance Club has been getting a bunch of updates lately and with every chapter is getting more and more Sports Anime and i'm mad about it. I just want it to go back to cute kids having fun and dancing and less "oohrah my special ability lets me counter yours" poo poo that it was making fun of like 5 chapters before it actually happened.

It's better than I expected from the intro at least and monsters actually look unique/frightening. However I see a lack of interesting female characters other than his sister and the doctor. Also I completely forgot some of the supporting characters since they meet so many different people on their journey. The sense of humor w/expressions reminds me of the good days of Magi.
