My point is that I think some people are mistakenly under the impression that an autocratic regime has to be brutally efficient in its methods in order to oppress people. Perhaps more horrifyingly, it does not. You can be every bit as incompetent as the Trumpstaffel and still get everything you want if there's and opportunity and nobody's there to stop you.
