it's good that Chapo is preaching liberal radicalization and not smug elitism about having known earlier about Hillary and the DNC I went to my first political event last night and it was fun and good to know I'm not alone

I know this isn't a thread for them, but what's the difference between them? Seems like almost the same feed but not quite which is a little puzzling. E- lol never mind. I just started listening to District Sentinel and they answered my question immediately. Snowy fucked around with this message at 15:03 on Feb 1, 2017 |

Maybe I need to listen more (likely) but when they do stuff like call protesters normies it seems a little silly when they just seem like twitter addicts, not exactly radicals in comparison. When they refer to "normies", they're talking about normal people who don't think about socialism or other large-scale political things. It's not an insult; they're admitting that they're weirdos.

They seem like they're very real about who they are. They recognize that most people don't engage with politics the way they do, that they are grounded in Weird Twitter culture and on the political fringes. Is it because they make fun of dipshits for being dipshits?

It's obviously important to include liberals in protest movements but I don't see anything smug about being suspicious of liberals who happily supported obama's foreign policy and drank the kool-aid for hillary and have suddenly done a 180. The US needs a movement that will last beyond Trump for real change to happen and while those people should be welcomed when they get out on the street if all they want in 2020 is another hillary then they''re not really helping that much

My hope, thin as it is, is that while they were able to sleepwalk through Obama and would have sleepwalked through Clinton, that this poo poo will jostle at least some useful fraction of people in a way where they'll recognize what's really at stake in the future, even if they didn't in the past. Like, if somehow they might have become... awakened.

I think the comment at the end of the last non-premium episode that "a lot of people were a sleep at the wheel for the last 8 years" was profound and the snake people who grew up only knowing\voting obama and didn't have the need to radicalized when they should have began to. Because we're so stupid with the concepts of generational names, it's specifically the age-group of people who are in between the Gen-x and snake people who are unfortunately roped in with snake people...which I just googled and they're called the "Oregon Trail Generation" which is loving amazing.

yeah, I was specifically referring to when they called out people who were smug and lovely about people realizing the DNC screwed them in the last premium episode. they want to encourage people to engage with critical thinking in politics, and I think that's commendable, and it reached me in a meaningful way if nothing else I forgot that the baseless masses did not get to hear that part

I'm glad I recently found this podcast/community which lets me know that not all liberals are as lame as the HRC/DNC democrats. Don't just use this as an escape. Take the concepts and arguments from Chapo, soften them up, and deploy them. A variant on Christman's "centrists want people to be wandering nomads who endlessly compete for poo poo jobs" has gotten several right-leaning acquaintances to say "yeah that sucks! At least we agree that's a poo poo deal and community matters!" -> you can parlay that into "that's what unchecked corporations want, my man" - they'll deny it but you have planted the seed. All kinds of people care about community, never forget that. And rapacious capitalism destroys it. Play that angle.

Nah, that's nothing. It's this garbage fire that we have to deal with :http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-trailguide-updates-rep-adam-schiff-trump-administration-1485895271-htmlstory.html The DNC writ large is whining about their radicalized base and how difficult it's going to make their jobs while blindly pulling the lever for Trump and the heads of the party, like Pelosi, saying that we have to really work together as a country. Don't worry, the Dems know this one, it's the classic "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" play that they've been running for the past 30 years.
