its probably better to keep them in there until they're ready to fall out on their own. I lost some baby teeth years before their replacements grew in and the spacing between my permanent teeth was all hosed up

That's probably what this investigation will find aswell.
The part where "[they] may have been exposed to unsterilised water, possibly containing blood or saliva from other children" just makes me shudder. I am no plumber but does that mean one rooms drain could have lead to another rooms tap, or something similar?

Edit: Apparently the suction system malfunctioned and resulted in potential backflow that contaminated the rinse.

People saying they have celiac when they don't is way less annoying to me than people getting all up in arms about their love of bread. No one wants to hear that you're fat and want to get fatter.
Fake allergies create a market for fake hypoallergenic food. My sister is lactose intolerant and got sick of something labelled "suitable for a lactose free lifestyle" which turned out to be decidedly non lactose free because despite appearances it was a propriety label that meant <1% lactose by weight, so basically everything but milk powder.

Now she just spent a day on the toilet and was fine afterwards. But this poo poo can happen with more serious conditions too.

Lactose intolerance isn't an allergy. If I had to guess I'm assuming she had a product that was reduced in lactose but not lactose free. That phrase isn't kicking anything back on Google, and lactose makes up 2-8% of milk by weight. You can't say something is gluten free unless it's been tested to be gluten free.

"This new federal definition standardizes the meaning of “gluten-free” claims across the food industry. It requires that, in order to use the term "gluten-free" on its label, a food must meet all of the requirements of the definition, including that the food must contain less than 20 parts per million of gluten. The rule also requires foods with the claims “no gluten,” “free of gluten,” and “without gluten” to meet the definition for “gluten-free.”"

Ultimately you just do the best you can and roll the dice, weird poo poo happens to food. My idiot coworker threw french fries onto my lunch plate today even though I'm mildly allergic to potatoes. You just kinda wish for the best, keep your meds around, and live your life.

Believe Donald Trump, folks: There is an anti-asbestos conspiracy. In his 1997 book, The Art of the Comeback, Trump warned America not to buy the crusade against "the greatest fire-proofing material ever used." He claimed the movement to remove asbestos—a known carcinogen—was actually the handiwork of the mafia:

Donald Trump, apparently posted:

I believe that the movement against asbestos was led by the mob, because it was often mob-related companies that would do the asbestos removal. Great pressure was put on politicians, and as usual, the politicians relented. Millions of truckloads of this incredible fire-proofing material were taken to special "dump sites" and asbestos was replaced by materials that were supposedly safe but couldn't hold a candle to asbestos in limiting the ravages of fire.

Maybe now with Trump and Putin in power the mafias can come to an international agreement about whether asbestos is good or bad.

From Wikipedia:

quote:

The eruption is caused by a physical reaction, rather than any chemical reaction. The addition of the Mentos leads to the rapid nucleation of carbon dioxide gas bubbles precipitating out of solution.[16] Gasses, in general, are more soluble in liquids at elevated pressures. Carbonated sodas contain elevated levels of carbon dioxide under pressure. The solution becomes supersaturated with carbon dioxide when the bottle is opened, and the pressure is released. Under these conditions, carbon dioxide begins to precipitate from solution, forming gas bubbles. Normally, this process is relatively slow, because the activation energy for this process is high. The activation energy for a process like bubble nucleation depends on where the bubble forms. It is highest for bubbles that form in the liquid itself (homogeneous nucleation), and lower if the bubble forms on some other surface (heterogeneous nucleation). When the pressure is released from a soda bottle, the bubbles tend to form on the sides of the bottle. But because they are smooth and clean, the activation energy is still relatively high, and the process is slow. The addition of other nucleation sites provides an alternate pathway for the reaction to occur with lower activation energy, much like a catalyst. For instance dropping grains of salt or sand into the solution lowers the activation energy, and increases the rate of carbon dioxide precipitation. The physical characteristics of Mentos (surface roughness, easy dissolution into the liquid, etc.) have the effect of drastically reducing the activation energy for carbon dioxide bubble formation, so that the nucleation rate becomes exceedingly high. This formation of gaseous carbon dioxide within the water, which due to hydrogen bonding and its high surface tension wants to maintain a connected matrix of molecules, causes the water to foam, ultimately generating the "jet"—or "geyser"—or eruption-like nature of the effusion.[11][3][14][17] The foaming is aided by the presence of chemicals like potassium benzoate and aspartame in Diet Coke, and gelatin and gum arabic in the Mentos candy, all which influence the nature of water's surface tension and degree to which it can foam.[9][11][14]

The nucleation reaction can start with any heterogeneous surface, such as rock salt, but Mentos have been found to work better than most.[3][11][14] Tonya Coffey, a physicist at Appalachian State University, found that the aspartame in diet drinks lowers the surface tension in the water and causes a bigger reaction, but that caffeine does not accelerate the process. The geyser reaction will still work even using sugared drinks, but diet is commonly used both for the sake of a larger geyser as well as to avoid having to clean up a sugary soda mess.
