If you drive straight south on LVB for a couple miles you'll get to the whole foods at town square, which also has about 20 restaurants that will be a lot cheaper to eat at than stuff on the strip.

Ah yeah then you'll be able to find one within a couple miles of you Off the top of my head there's a Vons on Tropicana/Maryland Parkway a couple miles east of the strip. It's right across from UNLV. Some people will say it's sketchy but you'll be fine Like Droo said there's also a Whole Foods in town square south of Mandalay Bay if that's more your speed.

Buffets: Bellagio isn't that great. I actually regret going and it was comped. Aria is decent. Caesar's was dope when it first opened. I think maybe they overplayed their hand/have gotten a little too comfortable because the second time it was good but not it was when it first opened.

I liked Aria's buffet, the selection was expansive and the desserts were great. Definitely worth the price.

Anyone have tips on good spots for draw poker? I know Venetian, Bellagio, and Wynn are always spoken of highly for card rooms, but I have a friend specifically asking about draw poker. Not sure if there would be the same or different advice for that vs hold 'em.

Wife and I are visiting LV for her 30th Birthday for 5 nights in June this year. Thinking of staying at the Cosmopolitan, any reason we shouldn't? Also can people give us some ideas on things to do, and/or critique our current shortlist: - a cirque du soleil show - heli ride to the grand canyon - pool party - Mac King's show - Penn & Teller - Shoot some guns, possibly with these guys http://bulletsandburgers.com/ (any alternative recommendations please?) - Bit of gambling - Visit downtown - Blueman Group - Absinthe Cabaret Also our current restaurant shortlist is as follows, critiques/opinions welcome: Joel Robuchon Twist Guy Savoy L'Atelier De Joel Robuchon Le Cirque Lotus of Siam Kabuto Carnevino STK Mon Ami gabi Rose Rabbit Lie Obvisouly we wont have enough time to do all these things!

You will be exhausted after 4 days , so schedule in a day of rest and relaxation in bed Most of the events you can squeeze in I think , but trips like the Grand Canyon will easily chew up 1/2 a day If you or her enjoy cars I suggest checking out Exotics Racing, relatively cheap compared to some other adventures and a load of fun.

Have you both been to Vegas before? If not, keep in mind that you can easily spend a couple days just walking the strip and seeing all the sights. The Cosmopolitan is very nice, and has an amazing view. Try to upgrade to a suite if it's cheap. For shows, I would say Absinthe > Penn and Teller > Cirque > Blue Man Group They're all good though. Other people have different opinions about Penn and Teller, but I really enjoyed it. I haven't seen Mac King so I can't comment on that one. You don't have to go through the club to get to cantina. It's just renting space on the side of the building.

All of your activities are fine. Your dining list: Joel > Twist > Kabuto > L'Atelier > Le Cirque > Lotus > CUT > * eliminate the rest of your list Zuma just opened at Cosmo and is supposed to be excellent. You're heavy on French food though, I'd suggest Carbone for Italian one night.

Hey all, a group of friends and I are thinking of going down to Vegas some weekend in mid-late April. We are all in our early-mid 20s, and we're a mixed-gender group. Activity-wise I think we're probably gonna do the normal stuff of drinking and going to clubs and maybe gambling and the like. We'll probably have around 10 or 12 people overall, and are thinking of getting three rooms with two queens, unless there's a better option. Hotel-wise we're looking at Treasure Island. Anyone have any opinions on it? Also, when it comes to larger groups of people, what do people normally do for food? EDIT: Crap, forgot to mention - we also want to check out a show while we're here. Any recs for shows? I hear that Absinthe is highly recommended, but I also hear that it can be racist. We can handle most stuff, but I was wondering how racist it actually is, in that if it will actively make people feel unwelcome, or if it's mostly light-hearted stereotype stuff. Absinthe is light-hearted stereotype stuff, i.e. "black men have larger dicks" rather than "black men are dangerous thugs and a threat to social order."

I think it's a solid mid-range hotel with nice, affordable rooms and a great location. I know a lot of goons in groups have done giant wraparound suites at the more hip and expensive hotels. I can't comment on how it compares to that since I'm old and married and not taking girls back to the room to impress, nor to I want to share a hotel-apartment with my buddies. I suppose it depends on your group and your budget. Maybe fancy suites make financial sense if they are housing your whole crew. All of the food options there suck, but there is lots of good food in close walking distance. The casino is OK, lowish ceilings so a little smoky at times if that bothers you. Gilley's is a campy country western Hooters knockoff but if you're not pretentious about your beer its a good place to drink and watch drunk girls try to ride the mechanical bull, sometimes in their underwear. I just got back from staying at TI last week - I like to try different hotels every time I visit. For the most part it was fine. Ventilation system in the room was poor and the food options in the hotel were poor(pizza in particular was just a pool of grease). Found myself reeking of smoke more than at most places probably due to ventilation system. Check-in was fast. Never had problems finding tables to play at. One thing I really liked that even on Super Bowl weekend there was never an issue with getting an elevator - think the longest I had to wait was about 20 seconds. You've got a CVS built right into the hotel pretty much which is always handy. Absinthe is great. I've seen it recommended for years and finally checked it out this time and absolutely loved it.

TI is fine, it's a pretty standard 2-queens hotel room. If you are staying with a group of 10-12 you should get a suite that a few people will stay in and that everyone will hang out in and pre-game, while the remainder get standard rooms. I am partial to MGM signature (the condos attached to MGM), but as Pakistani Brad Pitt mentioned, I'm old and married and lame, so feel free to ignore. I prefer a suite with a kitchen because eating three meals a day out is not only harmful to my wallet but also my gut. Not that I feel the need to whip up omelettes and hashed browns every morning, but the ability to have a bowl, a spoon, and a refrigerator such that I can have a bowl of Rice Krispies without having to walk 1/2 mile, wait in line, a drop $20 per person is important to me. It is also a nice space to hang out and bullshit over a 12-pack or a bottle of gin and some tonic for $10/group instead of $10/person.

So fiance and I are heading to Vegas for part of our honeymoon in early April. We'd like to spend a night or two out clubbing (she never had the chance to go and is jealous of stories of some of the spectacle at places like Moon and Tao years back when I was tagged along to a group doing table service). Since it's just the two of us, table service would be prohibitively expensive, but we'd rather not wait in those ungodly lines outside. Where should we go for spectacle and how do we go about getting on a list?
