You should play Team Protoman because Colonel is overrated and you get to see Chaud get decked in the face. Also hehe, Chaos Rings. Sorry Amy, but as the Nominator, Sonic will have to slay you so that you can become a Pillar to save the world. ...since literally nobody will get that joke, check it: http://lparchive.org/Chaos-Rings/ Seraphic Neoman fucked around with this message at 09:35 on Jan 11, 2017 |

As far as Battle Network 5 does, I erred on the side of Team Colonel since that one is technically the canon entry (and would make parts of Battle Network 6 not make sense otherwise). Now then, let's... completely gently caress ourselves over with more Chaotix... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aIJteOGprQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYie65DYu_A

Just a warning about Battle Network 4: The way the game is set up will require you to play through the entire thing start to finish multiple times just so you can unlock everything you need for the post-game stuff. This is probably going to be a long and painful slog for all of you so I'd reccomend you do one of the following: A. Don't bother with the Post-Game this time around and just do one playthrough. or B. Edit repeat playthroughs so you're just showing off the new content and cut out the rest. Almost certainly opting for Plan B. I still want the Postgame to be seen, but I'm not going to force people through multiple playthroughs if they are essentially identical, just to get to the "after the end" chunk. EDIT: Actually, I take that back. While I am leaning heavily on the side of Plan B, it will depend on how long the main game is. I know it's eight scenarios with three tournaments, so we'll see how long the first playthrough is, and take it from there. ricdesi fucked around with this message at 20:59 on Jan 11, 2017 |

It's very short. You can clear one run in a few days of casual play. And fair enough, though that scene with Chaud justifies Team Blues for me.

It is pretty short though, there are 3 scenarios per tournament plus 4 plot related ones in between (two of which end with you fighting the same boss). Also there's a potentially gamebreaking glitch in one of Blue Moon's scenarios if you're playing on anything other than an original GBA (this not only includes emulation but also things like the SP and Game Boy Player, not sure if it got fixed in the Virtual Console release though). I think there might be some workarounds for it but if you haven't chosen which version you're doing yet you might want to stick with Red Sun just to be on the safe side. Going back a bit to the headcannon discussion, as a teenager I always thought of the levels like this -> You start in a green forest that is under attack (Green Hill Zone), Sonic goes to take the fight to Robotnik's home and passes through the edges of civilization and the geothermal station (Marble Garden Zone), then through the junkyard (Scrapyard), hides through the sewer (Labyrinth Zone), and ends up in the city (Starlight) until reaching the forest proper (Scrapbrain).

Is there a different ending for getting all the Chaos Rings. If so, will you resort to save states if you get down to the last few stages and still don't have them? Cause I certainly wouldn't blame you at that point.

Sort of, yeah. Honestly the 'bad ending' is probably more interesting than the 'Good Ending'.
|
# ? Jan 19, 2017 00:10 |

Yeah, there are two endings to the game -- I'll make a separate savestate just in case, though if you want to see the (amazingly grim) bad ending, we covered that a long, long time ago... (Warning: horrible audio, weirdly busted visuals from the emulation, and this was about 3am after five hours of playing Sonic 3 & Knuckles and this) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrdO0bb5Ei4

It's worth noting that the city is supposed to be on fire, it just isn't showing up due to the emulation. The good ending is hilariously low effort in comparison. I wonder how much time this game was slapped together in.

Yeah, I have no idea why but whatever emulation we used just was not agreeing with us. Off the top of my head, I don't recall if we could see the weird neon green discoloration while recording or not... Either way, it's fixed now! Here's hoping the visuals aren't the only thing we do better this time around. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb1f4fz9hd4

I'm finally catching up with the videos, the fighting game you're talking about in episode 10 is Cosmic Carnage/Cyber Brawl a game with some loving bizarre censorship. Cause ripping people's limbs off so hard that blood gushes out 30 feet is A-Ok as long as you're doing it to an ant, a fire lady, and a human shaped black void as opposed to anime people.

Yeah, the bad ending of Chaotix is a lot more interesting in my opinion. Also in regards to your X5 playthrough, you guys are aware you can duck in this game right (as well as in every game afterwards aside from Xtreme 2 and X8)? Because otherwise a later stage (and parts of X6) is going to be nearly impossible for you if you don't start learning to utilize it.

Speaking of which I noticed that you started MMBN 4: WE WILL NOT FORGET THE RED SUN OVER PARADISE! -Contrary to what you may think or the game tells you, DO NOT TOUCH DARK CHIPS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ONE STORY FIGHT! There is exactly one Dark Chip worth using in BN4 (DarkSword) and it's not worth the multiple maluses you get. -Dark Soul is a worthless loving joke and to make it activate consistently you need to permanently lose about 200 HP. There is a navicust part called DarkLicense which makes you lose karma faster, but it's pretty late game and what's the point? There are like 20 chips which benefit from Dark Soul and half of them are useless, the others don't have real good synergy or have awkward codes. Also you can't use Dark Chips on the final boss. Straight up. -On the other hand, not using Dark Chips gives you Light Soul. IT IS BROKEN AS ALL gently caress. What it does is it lets you get into full synchro easier without the need of counter hits. The way BN4's retarded system works is that every hit you deal on an enemy gives you a certain amount of emotion meter points. You start at like 50 for Neutral Soul and you go Full Synchro at 255 (counter hits automatically give you 255 regardless of where you started). This makes Vulcan chips very, very good for getting full Synchro. Light Soul changes this minimum to something like 120. It's crazy good and you don't need to gently caress around with bugs. -You guys haven't even seen the worst typo. There is one that rules above all. Talk to Lan's mom during Windman's scenario. -Murkland is supposed to be Black Earth, apparently a place where Dark Souls gather. This is notable since it's the post-game area -If you get NumberBall, a fun cheesy strategy you can do is use a Dark Chip exactly once to make the last two digits of your HP 99. So each NumberBall chip deals 3*/4*/5* 99 dmg. 495 dmg from a standard chip is really great! -The codes you find that are long as gently caress unlock opponents in BCC. yep -Crackout breaks a panel and also flings a 60 dmg stone directly forward. it's better than PanelOut and actually makes for a decent folder stuffer since it comes in * code Seraphic Neoman fucked around with this message at 12:58 on Jan 26, 2017 |

I've never been much a fan of Sonic 3D Blast, but John is, so at the very least there's gonna be a few that at least somebody on the channel likes. At the very least, it's a better isometric Sonic game than loving Sonic Labyrinth. Genesis is the one I usually see represented in Let's Plays and what more people are familiar with. It also has some historical relevance with the way it was pushed as The Saturn Sonic Game after X-treme's cancellation. It was also my first Sonic game so I've got some nostalgia bias. Regarding the wine talk in the latest video, the sulphites most likely come from the grapes themselves. Grapes are usually treated with sulphur dioxide as a preservative, which is why you may have noticed your hands smelling a little weird after eating a bunch. Fun fact: Pour a bit of water and vinegar over the grapes to get the sulphur off, the vinegar will also leave them with a nice bit of tang to their flavor as well.

The Saturn version has the better music(With a few notable exceptions, stages 1-1, 4-1, and 7-1 being the real outliers on the Genesis side) and special stages, and generally just runs smoother. e: And like Dresh said, most people aren't even really aware that there is a difference and have only seen the Genesis version. While I'm nowhere near caught up (though I watched all but the latest D Pad + Chill ahead of time), I feel like I should mention with Aosth that animation quality has nothing to do with episode order, but with the studio it's outsourced to (though since the credits reflect the series as a whole instead of a specific episode, the only studio you could easily discern and put a name to is TMS for their unusually good quality). DVD order (which you guys follow) is also much closer to production order than airing order was (though there was one weird thing absent in airing order: Hero of the Year, a clipshow episode, is the final episode aired and in production order, but not in DVD order) and yeah, most of the art staff worked on either Ren & Stimpy and/or Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat (some of the more surreal visual gags in episodes like Trail of the Missing Tails and Tails' New Home are probably due to the fact that they let the storyboard artists add their own gags) Edit: Gary Chalk (Grounder's VA) didn't do Patrick Star (that's Bill Fagerbakke), but he did voice Sonic Underground Robotnik Edit 2: Robotnik designs by Milton Knight Digamma-F-Wau fucked around with this message at 07:35 on Jan 31, 2017 |

I'm not surprised you ragequit Sonic Drift 2, but I'd like to note that it isn't impossible, and back in the day I got pretty good at beating it. There are a number of tips and tricks to be aware of; for instance, I don't think you realized that hitting a spring was cancelling your invincibility. Also, each of the characters has a special ability, activated by pressing up when you don't have a powerup and have at least two rings: Sonic and Metal Sonic have dashes (Metal Sonic's is better, but costs three rings), Tails has a jump, Amy drops hearts that cause confusion, Eggman throws mines, Knuckles can jump or punch out nearby racers (context-sensitive), and Fang throws oil balls that cause spinouts. The racers also have different stats, and Fang's handling is terrible, which wasn't doing you any favors. Perhaps most significantly, it looks like you missed the whole drift part of Sonic Drift 2. Jamming the gas and brake while turning lets you do the drift, which is key to staying on the road. Hopefully you'll revisit the game at a later date! It is fun once you know how to race.

Yeah, after we were done recording it, it came to our attention that we missed a LOT of the game's features and didn't quite understand what the hell was going on in a couple spots. Frankly, the Blue GP slipping away after two wins was pretty devastating. That said, we were debating torturing ourselves with Drift 1 & 2 for a charity stream sometime, considering any other reason to play it would just result in a repeat of one of the only episodes we've ever had to straight up [apologize for (Sonic Drift, Part 3).
