the only criteria i care about for dnc chair: 1. is a good spokesperson for the party (ellison, buttigieg) 2. can raise money (all 3) 3. has proposed fundamental reforms or new programs that will improve the democratic party's competitiveness in elections (no one) 4. won't dismantle the dnc and replace it with the new hampshire democratic party (everyone except buckley) nothing else really matters

Their biggest interest is generally going to be voting for a chair who gives them more power and money. The rest are a combo of current electeds and then people appointed by the current DNC, both of which are also likely to be sympathetic to Perez. The short version is the DNC voting base is almost entirely old crusty dems who've been in party politics for decades and the majority probably have ties to hillary clinton, The state party ones are probably mostly voting based on who will promise to give them more power and money so they can hire their friends to not do much, they don't want to change the party structure much because they benefit from it, they just want to get more pie. I don't really see any reason why this group of people isn't going to vote for Tom Perez.
