After reading Elie Wiesel in ninth grade, we had to write a sonnet about the Holocaust which is about the weirdest assignment I ever had.

I can't think of any reason the Soviets would want to use comecon for the event. It's just there as another deterrence to keep the US from entering eastern Europe.

De-Stalinization is probably slightly worse since it can put things in the Americas. Turn 3 launch fodder.
