Don't know if that's a type of person but it seems to me like someone young who is really into nerd and nostalgic poo poo, but really only through the lens of the internet referencing and talking about it. The kind of person who really likes Ready Player One, I think (they are still making a movie about that shitball, and I hope its awful and embarassing and they do a HiTB episode about it).

Asylum films were made for the Blockbuster Video era. You tell grandma to go get Transformers, she walks into the store and sees "Transmorphors" which has an identitcal cover, and suddenly your birthday party is ruined

That's why you ask Grandma to get you Pirates of the Caribbean, so she actually gets the softcore porn version with the identical cover instead. Birthday party saved.

You're confusing two tax schemes here. A movie that loses a ton of money offsets the taxes that a studio would have to pay on movies that make money (this is the first tax scheme). This was a lot easier to do in the 80s, before some of the loopholes were closed. Basically you'd have a bunch of dentists or other guys with a lot of taxable income who would make a movie that is paid for mostly through tax credits from Germany or Canada (which is the second tax scheme), and that movie would lose a ton of "money" for its investors, who could then subtract the amount they "invested" into the movie from their real incomes when it came time to pay their income tax.

You're still paying 10 to lose 8 to get back 6 from the gov so you still lose money. It's not the producers.

IT WOULD NOT BE DIFFICULT MEIN FUHRER!

Me and my pals watched Star War number Five last night and we came to the conclusion that the prequels could not exist in the same continuity as the first Star War movies due to the fact that many characters' actions make no goddamn sense. Like Obi Wan already knew Chewie, Yoda already knew R2 and yet they act like they've never met before.

He hangs around R2 and C3PO a lot in the prequels so you'd think he'd at least raise an eyebrow when Luke and his robots who he hasn't seen for years show up on the same day. Maybe ask R2 what happened to the flying trick he used to do way back when.

RLM would be nothing. If people hadn't watched that Phantom Menace review, Mike, Rich and Jay would all have their own separate jobs and RedLetterMedia would still be editing wedding videos.

But Jack would probably be working on billion dollar Hollywood movies and rubbing elbows with the stars, living the good life in LA with his successful friends. Instead he's dicking around with a bunch of hack frauds and doing freelance video editing work for schmucks.
