So the doughy dude can handle a workout at the gym, but lifting some books gives him a drat heart attack? And Rex Morgan didn't even notice his friend had the cardiovascular system of a 98 year old man at the last checkup?

Rex is like Jon Hamm's character in 30 Rock; so handsome he lives in "The Bubble". He has no meaningful skills, but people throw money and medical degrees at him because he's just so darn charming!

Curtis

Actually, to be honest, I really do like the idea that Curtis' dad is lamenting the death of R&B (even though it doesn't make sense, there's plenty of R&B artists in the world), but it at least makes more sense than him being sad about smooth Jazz or Motown.

This is so dumb. You'd think the drama to come out of this story line would be Zak meeting Iris' son, who is the same age. But nope, they had them whooping it up on New Years Eve. Hey Iris, how about having Zak meet your friends as well as his? Finding a common ground while learning from each other? Nope - he looks happier with this friends, I think, so out he goes.

That being said, I look forward to the strip where Iris sees Zak in public while out with Wilbur at a sandwich shop.
