I think there were "protests" against the RNC at the time because they felt they were betraying the values of the  constitution from things that Libetarians usually rage about. (to be fair? They did seem to protest against our foriegn policy, and "homeland security", both of which I agree with). I want to say early March/April was when they were beginning to take power to be perfectly honest. I think the reason why there wasn't just this immediate counter protest against Obama was because Bush was one of the worst, most disliked presidents we had up until that moment and because it was a historically important moment in our country's history. e: The hatred of Bush was very "universal" in a lot of ways. No one wanted anything to do with him. The right began to see what a waste of times the Iraq wars were at that point, not to mention the economic collapse that happened under his watch. The more DNC candidates that get kicked out during their primaries, the better. If you can't change the senators' mind, change the senators. It'd be entertaining if all the Dems up for reelection plus a few red seats were replaced by BLM and antifa.

They had gotten the house and senate to flip, so what else was needed? They did ultimately win, and Obama ultimately lost. He got to be President but really was able to get next to nothing done for the last 4 years.

Bob has...some unresolved issues it looks like. I think the tl;dr of his life was that jocks in HS kicked the poo poo out of him and he's never gotten over it. I'm a bit disappointed in Patton and a few others because they were a major influence in shaping my political views growing up. It was guys like him, and David Cross that really introduced me to a lot of topics that I had never really considered growing up in a republican household. "huh. The war IS bullshit.
